Owner description: Shopping at Traditional Souks, such as Dubai Spice Souks, exposes travelers to Arab style marketplaces where goods are bought and sold. Bargaining allows you to acquire different commodities, such as spice, gold, textiles and perfumes.

“Real Dubai, or at least what it was, Dubai is not just about shopping”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

4 souks (markets) are connected and you should not miss the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the authentic Dubai... Noise, crowd, colors... Water taxi... Even if you want to walk down the Mission impossible 4 scenery, it's all here... Do not miss, or you'll think DUbai is only for shopping!
You can start exploring this area by visiting the museum first and then dive into the Carpet and materials; spice and gold souk... Don't forget to bargain for the better price!!!!

“Real Dubai experience”
Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

No visit to Dubai is complete without a visit to the souk's, and the spice souk is probably the most traditional. The street is quite short at about 200m but is packed with smells and sights of spices and textiles along with other more modern souvenirs.

The vendors will all try to catch your attention but are not over pushy, they will also all expect to haggle on price so don't accept the first number the offer for anything. Enjoy...

“Worth a look but...”

I was expecting to get spices at a cheaper price but that wasn't the case! Very expensive! I did buy some but paid way more than I should have!

“Not great”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

This was a bit of a let down, with not many places still selling spices. The smells were pungent and it is fascinating to see the sacks of various spices, but we were not tempted to buy. Nearby are shops with big sacks of spices selling wholesale, we thought the real trade had moved out of the souk.

“Not a lot of spices in the spice market...”
Reviewed May 23, 2014 via mobile

There sure were a lot of men trying to drag you into their shops. Only a few sold spices though and the rest were hocking knock off purses, sunglasses, etc. NOT worth the trip at all. And this is the only time we didn't feel completely comfortable in Dubai.
