“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights and had a great time in this hotel with my family. The connexion to the mall is really great for people wanting to do some shopping. It allows to have meals in the different restaurants of the mall. The terrace of the hotel is beautiful and the view on the sea and city from the deluxe rooms is amazing. People are friendly and always willing to help even at 2 am. The spa treatments were excellent. We could not use the swimming pool as the weather was not hot enough and very windy but the setting is beautiful. We will definitely return there.

Dear jheris,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts from your last stay with us.

It is always a pleasure to receive such positive feedback from our guests, especially regarding our associates, and rest assured that we have shared your kind comments will all of them.

Moreover, as you mentioned, our deluxe rooms offer amazing views of the city’s major iconic buildings such as the Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa.

Furthermore, our views from the 5th floor terrace and rooftop are equally astonishing as you can see the Dubai skyline and even the world in clear days.

In addition, as you very well mentioned, our hotel is directly connected to the renowned Mall of the Emirates featuring more than 560 brands from all over the world and entertainment activities for all ages such as indoor ski slopes and cinemas. The mall is also linked to the metro, a great way to explore the city avoiding all the traffic.

This is a very chic and modern hotel, sparkling clean and beautifully appointed. The staff are very friendly, especially the front desk. The 5th floor mezzanine is beautiful and comfortable, strategically located with plenty of shade, breeze, and both smoking and non-smoking al fresco seating. Highly recommend upgrading to Club level which includes daily buffet breakfast and 2-hour happy hour with appetizers and drinks (alcohol included)...and some other perks that I don't recall. We went to the Friday evening Indian buffet at the main restaurant. It was good, not spectacular, but worth the $40+ USD charge in my opinion.

The hotel is very conveniently located; no need to ever really leave. It's directly connected to the Mall of the Emirates, which has a convenient money exchange (better rate than in the hotel) and a "grocery store" like a Wal Mart to serve your random grocery/drug needs. There is also an IMMACULATE nail salon between the hotel and Mall (inside). I did not use the hotel spa, but a friend did. She was happy with it,but it was pricey.

Negatives: the food and beverage service in bars and lounges is extremely slow. Wait times to order, re-order, and pay the bill are far too long, most notably at the pool. It seems that no matter where you order (pool, mezzanine, etc.), the wait staff has to go to some other floor in the hotel to get the items.

Pool: very small with limited chaise lounges (about 40?) We got there around 1400 and, because of no poolside seating, ended up spending the whole day in the shaded lounge area by the "bar" (which was not actually stocked with anything; the waiter had to go somewhere else to fill orders). Also, they ran out of regular bottled water and only had Perrier - NOT the same thing at all. Come to think of it, they also ran out of white wine during one of the happy hours. I can't imagine how a world class hotel could run out of those standard items. ??

I ordered a drink prior to checking out, and it took literally 30 minutes for me to pay my bill because the waiter kept disappearing, and when I finally walked over to the register to catch him and give him my card, he disappeared again for a while until he could find a credit card machine that worked.

I'd like to say we loved it and would go back, but I just can't because of the slow food and beverage service.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Club level for breakfast and happy hour offerings!

We got moved to this Sheraton due to the refurbishment of another property in the city. I can't speak highly enough for the staff and the facilities. We used the spa and got a great Ramadan deal and had no problem getting a couples room for a massage. The only downside was a lack of restaurants during Ramadan, which I guess cannot be complained about too much. We stayed in Club Class room. Would definitely recommend! Wi-fi in the rooms was very patchy. I had to sit close to the door for example to get signal. However, these were minor issues, don't let it take away from this great hotel with great staff, facilities and management!

It's good value, but only if you're looking for a convenient way to have a shopping spree, the room we had was quite small so is fine for a nights sleep but not for chilling out in. We ate one night in the restaurant buffet which we felt was overpriced in comparison to what you get at other hotels but the room itself was inexpensive

Real nice experience, great, very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, quiet and spacious rooms. Suites that are larger than the standard in most Dubai hotels. Great views, in a centralized location near many major attractions. Hotel amenities were good. The room was excellent: it has a open bathroom design that makes the room bigger than it is. Sleep quality is excellent due to low noise A/C and super comfortable beds. Service is impeccable with good attention to detail.

Used an SPG award booking to try this hotel out ... probabbly just as well as I am not sure I would wish to pay the full tariff!
Arrived at the ground floor reception which is dark... not only dark but the whole mood is dark with drab colours and equally dire paintings. Clambered out of the car at the entrance to allow valet parking however not one porter ventured across to help us get our bags out ! Maybe too many residents of the Kingdom were distracting them with the prospect of large tips !
Went to the desk which was overly busy with at least one check in staff available however they were not prepared to serve us. It took another 5 minutes before they could help us and then they were not able to provide a room with a single king size bed as they were still cleaning the rooms This was nearly 16.30 so availablity should have been known by then or alternatively upgrade an SPG Gold member to the next level as by means of compensation. Or perhaps provide complimentary access to the lounge ?

When we had been allocated a room we were told by the check in agent that we should proceeed to the 5th floor via the reception there to the lifts up to the rooms. There had been no mention of the 5th floor reception which was empty when we passed by it! We could have saved ourselves several minutes by going to the 5th floor had we known!

The 12th floor room provided a view toward the Jumeriah Beach hotel and partial view of the Burj Khalifa, (which was slightly disappointing!)

The room was was spacious with a glass enclosed bathroom which was a little disconcerting until you could establish the location of the electric blinds!

Most facilities were available (with the exception of some English Breakfast Tea ... lots of mint tea and Camomile tea!)

The roof pool was remarkable and provided some great picture opportunities at sunset as well as an approximate 260 degree vista of the surrounding area!

Food prices for room service were unsurprisingly expensive! The menus looked uninspiring so just as well that there are plenty of food outlets and supermarkets next door in the Mall as a inexpensive alternatives.

Staff (especially at check-in) were a bit surly.... recognition did not come easily!
