“Happy with the quality but noisy due to construction around”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We staid at this hotel between Dec 27, 2012 to Jan.2 2013. The hotel we would rate as general middle class (not upper as in our booking mentioned), but there is not too much to complain about. The room was very nice, clean and large enough, the staff very friendly and helpful at any time, their English is without any issues. Services in the hotel in general are good, the breakfast is plenty, but at times crowded and then starts to look a bit messy as staff cant keep up. Even so not right Downtown, we loved the location of the hotel with BurJurman Mall and BurJuman Metro Station a few steps away from the hotel. Also taking a taxi is no issue as it is easy to catch one. Teh pool area is so so, not so nicely maintained and the the view is obstructed by high fences. SOon there will be buildings around which are higher.
Our complaints: there is massive construction all around the hotel which is likely to go on for a while, and the noise is terrible, even with closed windows. Heavy duty machinery at work. Another thing that upset us and is quite unusual ( I do a lot of business travel) is the fact, that even in the Lobby, WiFI was not free but always charged. Here I need to ask the question why the Hotel does not make the WiFi at least free in the lobby and adjust their room rates a bit if this is really necessary. To generally charge WiFi is not acceptable these days any more. In the room it may be ok, but not in the lobby area. This point and the noise we experienced drops the overall rating from 4 to 3 points.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay as far away from the construction on the North and West side area as possible, th...

I am responsible for conducting hotel inspections for airlines, hence, feel I will provide Trip Advisor readers with an unbiased feedback.

I booked my hotel through the reservation lady, I think her name was Fatima, she was very accommodating and polite and did all possible to find me the best rate. Well done !
I have just returned from a short stay on the 13th December, at the surprisingly beautiful Holiday Inn, Bur Dubai. I checked in at 9pm and was surprised at it’s modest opulence, only staying one night with a very early morning check out, so did not get an opportunity to fully review the hotels facilities.

In my opinion, the property is quite unique with a grand reception and modern rooms, gorgeous rooms and a real modern feel. Mr Omar Anwar Albaini (Assistant Front desk manager), was absolutely superb, he was very courteous and friendly and kindly upgraded me to a very large executive feel room. He attended to a faulty room safe in a very swift manner. An absolute asset.

The hotel is located slightly away from the main road and taxis seemed to be an issue, however, for my short stay, I could not fault this hotel.
I would recommend this hotel for leisure and business travellers.

I was on a business trip to dubai. Holiday inn Bur Dubai is a really nice hotel. The hotel is located very near to the airport and the taxi driver new this locality very well so it was not a problem to reach at the hotel. The staff is well qualified to welcome the guests and to fulfill their needs. It seems that every time they are ready to help guests, i saw many occasions while sitting in the lobby during meeting with a guest and all i could see that the hotel staff right from the bell boy to the lift man and the people at the reception are always ready tp help. It seems that they know each guest personally. Rooms are spacious and hospitality is very good. All i found that the staff and nice atmosphere of the hotel really made my stay worth. It was worth the money i paid.

I stayed in Holiday Inn Bur Dubai from Nov 9 to 14, 2012; i was very satisfied with the services from airport pick-up to the day i checked-out. Staff are very warmth and friendly, service is at high level and they are attentive to my needs. The Restaurant in GF is fantastic with wide variety of choices for breakfast, staff are very helpful. I attended a conference and i had good impression of the ballroom, coffee break and the public areas; every requests we made were attended at once. The rooms are spacious, especially the bathroom which is well laid out and the water pressure was as expected. I will definitely come back to this hotel and will recommend this hotel to my friends and family that will be staying in the beautiful city of Dubai.

In a city inundated with 5 star (and 7 star) hotels, the Holiday Inn is a bit of an outlier. It's in Bur Dubai, just behind the British Embassy and very close to the old Dubai (museum, markets, creek, etc.). The Khalid Bin al Waleed metro station is half a block away and serves both green and red lines, which means fast connections to all key areas of the city and the airport. Big rooms and relatively well soundproofed windows. Everything feels quite new and well built/finished. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a quiet street off Khaleed Bin Waleed so traffic noise is not a huge issue, but at t...

Stayed here for 2 nights before moving to another property on Jumeirah Beach. This is a comfortable hotel and a great place to stay if you would like to explore the traditional Dubai. Dubai Creek is a 5 minute walk away. They have a small rooftop pool, great for having a few hours of sunbathing (that would be if you visit during the cooler months of the year!) Good and spacious rooms.

Stayed here for 6 nights using Priority Club points and got Platinum upgrade to executive room on third floor looking out over internal atrium. The room was excellent, large and luxuriously furnished. Great flat screen TV, nicely appointed bathroom with jacuzzi jet bath and lots of storage space and seating. Had no problem with noise. Air conditioning was powerful and reliable. Got mineral water every day and an impressive fresh fruit platter on first day. Staff were very helpful and polite, nice touch when security man would call elevator and indicate which one would open as you approached. Location is very good for Airport and Metro Red and Green lines as Khalid Bin Al Waleed metro station is less than 5 minutes walk away and is an interchange station between the two lines - my favourite place was the Creek which is only a couple of stops away or you can walk. Bur Jurman shopping mall is also within 5 minutes walk with excellent stores and food outlets. If arriving at Metro station exit at Exit 4 for Hotel - look for RAK Bank towards your right as you exit and hotel is right opposite that Bank (but you won't be able to see it) - either walk across sandy vacant lot and turn right or walk along road that RAK Bank is on. Exit 3 will take you to the shopping mall. Taxi to Terminal 1 at 5.30 am cost only 17 AED. The roof top swimming pool, whilst not massive, was very nice with loungers and staffed bar, I enjoyed popping up there in the late afternoon to cool down and rest - in October the pool goes into shade in the late afternoon which was quite welcome! I would recommend this hotel and would definitely return again.
