Owner description: In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride -- really a taxi. Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.

“Great way to cross to Burdubai”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Very nominal fees to use this local age old transport system sustaining on expat use. A great way to see city skyline and cross on the other side. Market and shopping area at both ends. Very cool during dusk times. Very hot and humid in afternoons.

“Great Authentic Experience”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We were told this is a must do. Not realizing how inexpensive these trips are we went over expecting to hear a high price but were stunned by the low aed amount. So fun especially as people are crossing late in the day.

“Very relaxing”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Well we used the water taxi being started by the RTA. I found it more appealing and comfortable with well equipped cushioned seats and dafey measures. Tickets is quite cheap so i wud recommend this over the typical abra rides. We found it very relaxing and provided a good view of adjoining buildings and creek area. Do try it if u have a love for sight seeing. I will recommend it to arrange ur trip such that u visit dubai museum, heritage village, shiekh makhdoum house and abra ride on thw same day as all these attractions are near by.

“old dubai”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

After all the modernity this boat ride across the river in the evening to the older souks across the river was a great treat to get more a feel for the city. and only 1 dirham! Roam around the souks on either side of the river and check out the great vegetarian Indian restaurant near Abra dock
