Owner description: In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride -- really a taxi. Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.

Frequent service. Only costs 1 UAE Dirham! Lovely trip across the creek. Great trip after dark, the lights on the dhows as they cruise the creek, and the beautifully lit skyline.

“great authentic and cheap or free”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

authentic, real working dock. not many thing are "real" in Dubai as opposed to created to fake something else in the world, but this dock is the real thing; serves a purpose and has been around since Dubai has been. Great to see the variety of human life down there, people from everywhere.

“Well laid out”

Open, clean with well marked stations. In the heart of the busy district of meena bazzar...very convenient way of getting across the creek for only 1 Dhm...and a great experience.

“Lively Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Whenever you feel lonely, just get down here and life will be back. Take a ride on the boat, walk around the creek and Mina bazar, try out all range of restaurants around, market is cheap but you need to bargain to get a good deal. Be aware of duplicate stuff though, especially electronics.

“Ancient and modern again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

Creek is the wonderful river connects the ancient and modern Dubai! The Abra dock is still keep their traditional memories alive. You just pay AED 1 to cross the river here.. Night vision is extremely pleasing and you can see the trade system over there. You will wonder like the most modern city still keeps their traditions untouched..
