I’m in the middle of a two week stay here. Rooms are fine, but not cleaned properly - even tough I asked reception today if they could please wipe the surfaces (after a week). Toiletries (I only use the vanity one with the cotton wool) have never been replaced. Note - if a guest uses a toiletry, it usually means they need it so please replace!! Housekeeping/room service/concierge typically takes three phone calls before you get anywhere - I could go into details but really it’s not worth it!
Staff are lovely and friendly and it’s located 5 mins from mall of emirates, but nearer And easier metro is al shared.
On my first day off the pool had to close due to problems with water. Initially told closed for two hours. After two hours, was told maybe another three. No problem, safety more important. Had been told in morning I could go to another hotel, didn’t pay attention to where, as I was happy to lie out and wait for pool. After two hours with no sign of pool opening I enquirer about other hotel but staff weren’t aware and called manager. He came and said he would enquirer and get back to me ASAP. Well ASAP was 1.5 hours later - you’re probably getting the drift by now!
As I say staff are lovely and trying their best but there doesn’t seem to be any impetus to make things right. I had a terrible smell from drain in my shower, day 2 or 3, S I was leaving in morning for work mentioned it. Came back and smell was fine. Next day smell was even worse. Said it to reception and was told “when you’re packed we will move you”. I work long hours and the last thing I wanna do is repack and unpack at the end of a long day!! My alternative was they’d have to have an engineer look at it (I assumed that had been done the day before!!!). Anyway when I came back that night smell was gone and have had no issue since.
Will be requesting I’m not put in this hotel in future.
