We stayed over in Dubai in June 2013 for two nights to break up our flights to another destination and enjoyed it so much we booked a whole week there with friends in September!
The Sofitel Jumeriah Beach is located on the Walk, a busy promenade which is lined with restaurants, cafes shops and other hotels. In the evenings we loved watching the supercars driving along the Walk from the comfort of our balcony!
After reading the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor we really didn't know what to expect from the hotel but i'm pleased to say that we loved it! We arrived at around 1am and were checked in quickly and efficiently, we went to our lovely room and our bags arrived shortly afterwards.
We were upgraded to a luxury room for our first visit which was much appreciated and booked a luxury room for our second visit. The room was spacious and tastefully furnished with a lovely comfy king sized bed. In the bathroom was a huge bathtub and a separate shower and toilet cubicle (my only complaint here was that the toilet cubicle was a bit small for my 6ft 5 other half!). Next to the bathtub are sliding doors which open onto the bedroom, a fabulous touch as I was able to lounge in the bath while watching the TV! We had a front facing sea view and on a clear day from our balcony could see the Palm, the Atlantis hotel and the Jumeriah Beach hotel too.
The hotel has three bars, two of which we tried. The Infini swim up pool bar is located on the terrace and there's comfy loungers and sofas surrounding the infinity pool which looks out over the Walk. It can get busy during the day though so you cant always get a spot. The Infini is the perfect place to watch the sun go down with a cocktail in hand and in the evenings its a lovely chilled out place to listen to music, smoke a shisha pipe or have a relaxing drink.
The Hub Irish bar was one of our favourite places to relax when it got a bit hot outside. The staff here were so friendly, my boyfriend celebrated his birthday during our stay and when we mentioned this to the bar staff they went out of their way to make us feel special, even providing him with a birthday cake.
We really enjoyed our stays at Sofitel Jumeriah beach and cant wait to return
