Before we had even arrived at the Sofitel Jumeriah Beach I had a feeling that this hotel wouldn't disappoint. Perhaps it was due to the speedy & helpful responses that I had had from the reservation team pre arrival or perhaps it was the feeling of hopefulness that one gets when trying a new brand of hotel for the first time.
I am pleased to say that the Sofitel didn't disappoint. As arranged our 'limousine' was waiting for us when we arrived complete with a cold hand towel to refresh us after our overnight flight. The drive to the hotel was smooth & short no complaints.
On arrival we were impressed by the attentiveness of all the staff that were there to greet us with such warmth & welcoming demeanours. We had come in early so unfortunately our room wasn't ready but we were advised to make our way to the bar where we would received complementary drinks. It was only around 10am so it was just getting warm, I couldn't wait to freshen up & start our weekend!
We did manage to check in around 11, and the porters were very helpful, taking our luggage to the room in due time while my partner and I made our way up our private elevator - (which you had to insert your room key in order to get to your room floor - ((very impressive!!))
Once we arrived to our room we were greeted with a beautiful beach view, the room itself was impeccable, oversized bath, a walk in rainfall shower cubicle, and a queen sized bed, not to mention to a now "standard" flat screen TV, alongside an executive desk with a (what I took as) vanity mirror. I had no complaints!
It was my partners birthday, the hotel staff had picked up on it and wished him a happy birthday when we checked in. Alongside this we had a letter from the hotel manager Dominic Arel when we returned to the room later that night. Welcoming us as guests to the hotel and advising us of the good food that the hotel had to offer alongside letting us know that a team of ambassadors were at hand if we needed anything. A really lovely touch!
We also came back to a birthday cake and a lovely card signed by the staff, I was speechless!
The heated infinity pool was also lovely with a bar in there. There was a fitness centre & spa which looked well equipt but we didn't use it.
We didn't eat in the hotel but when we spoke to the other guests they had only good things to say about the food.
Location - Perfect, great view and very accessible in a taxi to other parts of Dubai.
All in all - this was a perfect hotel, staff were great and the ambiance was elegant, calm and welcoming all in one. I am now a Sofitel convert & can't wait to discover another one.
