“Gave it another try and was yet again disappointed”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Was impressed the first time we went with some friends, disappointed the second time for my bday and my husband wanted to give it another try for Valentine's day and we have decided never to go back. My husband made the reservations on line and made sure to note that he wanted a special evening. We arrived at 7 and were the first people to be seated outside (as per request). There were several tables with nice, unobstructed view of the water front but we were seated instead in an obscure area facing hotel rooms (well, I was, my husband had a glimmer of the water). The restaurant was empty! My husband asked the Manager (who was from India) how the tables were allocated and he said that it was automatically, through their system. We were offered our champagne and then staff proceeded to just plop food after food on our table (we had the Valentine's special 700aed for a 10 course meal). My husband felt like we were being rushed to eat and had to tell the staff to slow down and take their time as we wanted to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. We could not read the menu, nor see our food as the lighting was so low that we each had to pull out our phones to see what the food looked like. It was almost 1 1/2 hours before another couple was seated and they were seated at the table next to us. They too had to pull out their phones to see the menu and their food, which was coming at a fast pace as well. Another couple (from India) was being ushered in personally by the Manager and lo and behold, they were seated at the table with the best view!
Not once were we asked by the manager how our meal was getting along, he did not offer to move us to a "better" table, even though the restaurant was empty, food serving sizes were small and not as great as I remember to be, service was rushed, atmosphere dim and dark and uninviting. This was our last visit and it's a shame as Thai food is one of my favorite food.

after having been delighted on our first two visits, we were rather disappointed when returning there before Christmas. food was arranged without the usual attentiveness, and tasted rather average.

“Brilliant Thai food”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

The food and ambiance was brilliant. We were at the outdoor deck and the weather and view just complemented the food.
The starters were excellent, our group couldn't get enough of the pomelo salad.

“Fantastic early New Year dinner”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We had a wonderful meal for four early in January as part of our trip over Christmas and New Year to family in Dubai.
My family had gone on a few previous occasions for special evenings and they wanted to share this with us on our visit.
Our choice was the set menu 1 for two of us and set menu 2 for the rest. What an experience as each small dish that appeared before us was better than the one before. The variation on the dishes was quite spectacular.......... be it chicken beef or sea food, the spices and sauces blended so well making our evening a huge succes.

“Phenomenal food, service, ambiance and value! Highly recommended.”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Attended the Thai Kicthen's cooking classes last week and was greeted by the Assistant Manager, Mr Shekhawat by name! We were taken to the center kitchen and handed our aprons and chef hats. A couple of glasses of decent champagne followed. After a brief introduction to the day, we were taken to our stations and introduced to the chef. We proceeded to make 5 fantastic Thai dishes, tasting along the way, and sipping on a glass of house wine which was always topped up thanks to Abhishek. We had a delicious meal by the Terrace including tom yam soup, prawn spring rolls, beef fry, green curry and pad thai and a delicious cheesecake as desert with a bouquet of flowers as we were celebrating a birthday. The food was authentic with fresh flavors (vouch for it as we had cooked some of our own meals!) and over all a delightful experience.

After, we were shown around the hotel and its restaurants. Mr. Shekhawat as well as the chefs were gracious and attentive hosts, representative of Thai culture and Hyatt hospitality.

Highly recommended and enjoyable experience.
