“Holiday of a Life Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2010

Arrived at midnight were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff, stayed in Atlantis room, 2 adults and 2 children 4y and 11y, used room service for a midnight feast, food was excellent and quite reasonable cost. Our stay was for 10 days, half board, we were able to use 2 of the 3 Michelin star restaurants for evening meals on our half board conditions, the Food was Fantastic, tried many of the other restaurants which were also Excellent, Breakfasts were also first class, massive selection of food available to suite all tastes, restaurant staff were very efficient, never had to wait long for toast and coffee etc, my only annoyance was how some of the other guests of various nationalities treated the staff like dirt, we are not perfect from the UK, but we seem to have more manners than most.
The water park is fantastic, the Dolphin experience is Fantastic, the kids club is awesome excellent staff, Gym and Spa superb. Free shuttle bus to the Dubai Mall ( Don,t waste your time with any of the other shopping centres, The Dubai Mall is amazing 1200 shops nothing comes close, prices ok, great food, except for anything electrical, cameras, computers etc all 30% cheaper in UK) taxis are ok for price. You must try the Desert trip great value unforgettable trip. Do not bother with the tallest building Burj Khalifa, they do not tell you when you purchase a ticket they only take you 2 thirds of the way up, impressive building though if you are into that sort of thing.Would love to go again.
The Best Holiday a Family could have, 10 out 10, hope this small review is useful to you.

The hotel is located on the much hyped palm jumeriah...The lobby is huge though the reception is quite small compared to the rooms the hotel has. So check in can take time. We reached early so they gave us an early check in..But the staff quality leaves a lot to be desired...Staff is not courteous and very rigid...
In house guests do get a free entry to Aquaventure and Lost chambers..though lost chambers is not worth it..Aquaventure can be fun with kids...Spa is a awesome though..

Wow! This hotel stuns you as soon as you see it. Enter the reception area and you're mesmerised by its sheer magnificence. The hotel itself is huge and occupies an island on the Palm, with views both over the sea, and back over the Palm islands towards the city. The rooms are large, luxurious and impecably clean. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel facilities are second to none. There are various restaurants within the hotel complex - I can highly recommend the buffet restaurants, available at each meal time. I will never forget the buffet breakfasts! Fancy dim sum for breakfast? Or even curry? This hotel caters to every taste and culture, and you will find everything - including every fresh fruit juice you can think of, and even a pancake and waffle bar. The dinner time buffets were equally as impressive, again with every taste catered for, and very popular with children it seemed.
The aquarium and associated attractions (The Lost Chambers) were also impressive and made a lovely backdrop to the hotel, and also to the Ossiano restaurant. The Ossiano's food was excellent, having a 3 Michelin star chef, but a bit overpriced, but we found the atmosphere a bit lacking and very subdued.
Walking past the spa area every morning and evening, was an olfactory treat, with the smell of white tea filling the corridors. Did a little shopping in the spa gift shop, which had some lovely body care products.
The Aquaventure water park was lots of fun, and would certainly like to go there again. Would love to go back to the Atlantis hotel, as soon as finances allow!
While you're in Dubai, why not book for afternoon tea at the Burj Al Arab Hotel?

We have v much enjoyed our stay. The hotel was excellent, starting w v friendly reception area, that upgraded our room, which was large wrestaurants hudge bathroom, separate toilet, ba throom and shower areas! there has been tremendous choice of food in breakfast restaurants, as well as for lunch and dinner, although expensive. Apart from several hotel pools there was free access to absolutely amazing aquapark. Most city attractions ara within 20-30 min taxi drive. Service is absolutely terrific and friendly. There are no shops nearby, so only choice are big Dubai malls, except for alcohol, which has to be purchased at arrival in the airport. Would like to come back again!

Novelty factor aside, Dubai has much better to offer than Atlantis.
We stayed for the weekend, and had we come from abroad would have been disappointed. The water park and aquarium are worth a day trip with the kids- and you can do that from any hotel by purchasing a day pass. My advice would be to stay somewhere else, and come to Atlantis for a day.
The food is HUGELY overpriced, which would normally not be the worst thing about a 5* hotel, IF it was actually edible or tasty!!! The kids room service menu was worse than Mcdonalds, with only one healthier option, which was fried rice, and when that came, it was so small it was hardly to be called a portion and it was about 12 pounds!

We had one of the worst meals ever at Ossiano which is billed as the signature place menu supposedly under the mentor-ship of a 3* Michelin chef, it was so bad I don't know where to start, the last straw of a cobbled together, bland, whoppingly expensive, badly cooked, flavourless tasting menu ( which was 950 AED, so roughly 170 GBP) was the first pudding which was served still frozen. Fillipina waitress who described a chicken consomme as HEN SAUCE! ..... etc etc, all of which would be quite amusing were the bill not 4000 AED around 715 GBP with one bottle of fairly nice burgundy and a couple of glasses of desert wine) I have paid that at some of the best places I've eaten and rolled home full of deliciousness and glee - this place just left a really bad taste. Lesson learned we chose not to go to Nobu (having eaten at the London flagship, and loved it,clearly, we were in no mood for an Atlantis let down) Chefs should beware besmirching their brands abroad without keeping a close eye on the quality. Ossiano may be 3 Michelin star inspired but there was little evidence of that in the eating!

Rooms were OK - but all the good hotels in Dubai are fairly new, large, and well appointed. There was no free wi fi, no DVD and not a nespresso machine in sigh The water park at Jumeriah is as good, and the kids club there is better in my view.

Atlantis has a bit of a Vegas feel to it, the UAE is lots of things, Vegas is not one of them, save your curiosity for a day pass, and unless you get the mother of all bargain packages including HB, there are better places to go, and certainly better places to eat !

This hotel has to be on your list of hotels to visit during your lifetime. It's excellence has ruined all subsequent hotel experiences. From the welcome on arrival in the cathedral-like reception lobby to the check-out experience, nothing is too much for the staff at this luxurious hotel. The staff 'get' the idea of service and deliver it with a smile, without exception. The hotel is spectacular (you need a satnav to work your way around the place) and the variety of experiences is great. The aquarium in the middle of the hotel is spectacular, and the AquaPark is amazing - we were a group of 4 adults who spent the whole day just floating around the various water courses. Swimming with dolphins in Dolphin Bay was emotional and wonderful and not at the feeling of exploiting the animals. We bought the CDROM of professional photos which was well worth it. We stayed in Club Rooms which were phenomenal, as was the Club Lounge, which serves free drinks until 8pm. (You need to wear long trousers and not beachwear). We also tried the room service for food (burgers, southern fried chicken, dips etc) and the price was reasonable - less than £10 a head. The hotel was so good we did not venture outside, which will be a reason for going back to Dubai, and staying at the Atlantis again.

Stage 2 of 3 stage honeymoon ( Kandalma Sri Lanka & Paradise Cove Maurituis)
Was a bit of a culture shock after the remoteness of Kandalama but we really loved it...its very close to the airport and the (Super) Dubai mall the room was large enough and clean enough the service was great the swimming pool and canbanas were great.
thetre was a funny smell in to corridors(?) but we got used to it!
