My sister and I stayed here for three nights, and all I can say is wow… This place is fantastic.

We booked the holiday through Virgin Holidays, and got a deal which included Flights, Transfers, accommodation and half board (excellent value).

On arrival at Dubai airport we were picked up by private car and taken directly to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel all I could think was wow this place is amazing and we had not even gone in the front door!!!!

The reception / lobby area is amazing I personally think it had more of a wow factor than the Burj Al Arab.

The reception staff were very friendly and checked us in really quickly, the check in time was 14:00 but we were lucky that our room was available straight away at 09:00 so we could get changed and go and enjoy a whole day of the facilities.

Our room was in the East Tower, and on the way to the lifts we saw the massive fish tank, and we both could not believe how lucky we were to be in this amazing place and had not even got to our room yet!!

The hotel is open to the public, but only in certain areas. When you check in you are given a pouch with your key cards in that show security that you are a hotel resident, which ensures that only residents can access the floors where the rooms are, the pool areas, Aquaventure and Dolphin Bay. Security soon get to know you and are so friendly.

Our room was again “amazing“, we had two double beds and still had loads of room. The beds were really comfortable, with clean and fresh linen. The bathroom was huge with a separate toilet and separate shower. We were given plenty of clean fresh towels, and great quality toiletries etc. The novelty of having the movable screens by the bath was nice, it was a fun to be able to watch TV when laying in the bath. Their was plenty of wardrobe and storage space. Also in the room was a large desk and two chairs, an arm chair, mini bar, fridge, bath robes, hair dryers, iron and ironing board and an iPod clock radio. Basically every thing you need. The rooms were spotless and the chamber maids would ensure that you were happy and knock to offer any additional towels etc every evening.

The hotel is absolutely huge, you would need a week just to find everything, but all areas are spotlessly clean and all staff were brilliant. To get to Aquaventure and Dolphin Bay the hotel have little shuttles (like golf buggies) that take you there, because it is quite a walk!!!

We were on a half board basis (breakfast and evening meal), and were really pleased that we got this deal, because it saved us a fortune. On the half board basis you can choose to eat at either the Kaleidoscope (buffet) or Saffron (buffet) for breakfast. And for the evening meal you could choose the Rostang (French) restaurant or Kaleidoscope (buffet). If you wanted to eat a one of the many other restaurant the hotel would take off 140AED from the bill.

We ate two of our breakfasts in the Saffron restaurant, it was fantastic, and gave you so much choice it was unbelievable. The restaurant has at least six food stations all serving something different including, Indian breakfast, Japanese breakfast, Arabic breakfast, eggs, turkey bacon, porridge, different pastries, different breads, pancakes, waffles, yoghurts, fruit, juices, and the best bit a massive chocolate fountain with marshmallows, melon, dates and sweets to dip in.. naughty but such fun. We ordered room service for our other breakfast as we had to leave the hotel before the restaurants opened. The room service breakfast was great with good choice and as we were half board was able to include this in our package.

We ate two of our evening meals in the Kaleidoscope restaurant. The food was great and as it was buffet you had so much choice that we ended up eating so much that we couldn’t move afterwards (ha ha). Their was different food stations serving Japanese, Indian, Italian, salads, sushi, cheeses, fruits and loads of yummy desserts.

We also ate at the Rostang restaurant. This restaurant provided a half board set menu with a choice of different starters, main course and deserts. This restaurant was very nice and the personal waiter services was top class.

Drinks around the hotel is very expensive, but no more than what you would pay if you went to a five star hotel in London. Wine a approximately £10 a class, and cocktails were around £15. It is well worth looking to see the Happy Hours times for the different bars.

We also had afternoon tea in the “Platos” tea lounge. It was excellent. All the sandwiches and cakes were served buffet style and you were served scones, cream and jam at your table. You could also choose from various tea, coffee and other hot drinks. The waitress staff in here were brilliant.

We booked a shallow swim with the dolphins when we booked our holiday, and got it half price through Virgin. You are at Dolphin Bay for approximately an hour and a half and this includes time to change into the wetsuits, and educational talk and 30 minutes interaction with the dolphin. It was brilliant and well worth the money. My sister loved it so much she booked to do the deep water interaction the next day and as a hotel guest got a discount on the booking.

Aquaventure entry is free to hotel guests, which is brilliant because to outsiders it costs approximately £40 per person. As a hotel guest you receive a bracelet on the way to the park each day. The only extra we paid for was for a locker, which are approximately £8 a day. All towels are free to hotel guests aswell. The lazy river is brilliant, you can just relax in your rubber ring an float around for hours, and take different short cuts to different rides, such as the rapids and torrent, all were brilliant. The slides were great especially the “Shark Attack” where you go through the tunnel through the tank full of sharks, rays and different fish. My sister did the “leap of faith” she said it was brilliant but looked a bit to scary for me!!!. Food and drink is expensive in the park, but no more expensive than when you go to Chessington etc in this country.

The main pool area in the hotel is good, and very relaxing. Again all towels are provided, we even had a man come round to clean our sun glasses. It was great to sit in the pool and be able to look over to the buildings in Dubai.

The beaches were spotless, although we didn’t spend time laying on the beach, it did seem very relaxing.

All in all this was the most amazing hotel that I have ever stayed in, and would certainly return, it really does have the wow factor.

I enjoyed my stay at Atlantis. The resort is HUGE..We got a good deal on the room and i guess that was the highlight of the stay because of the high prices of other hotels in Dubai. The room's interior we alright, nothing special. Some of the furnitrue in the room didnt actually match the colors and themes of the place. The hotel seems to have been completed in a rush.
Because of the sheer number of rooms, the service was alright. I had dirty towels in more than one occassion.
I liked the complimentary pass to the "Lost Chambers". They have a waterpark and Dolphins Bay as well whihc i didnt visit but heard many great things about!
The Hotel boasts a long list of restuarants which is a plus.
I tried the food in Nobu. It was good but didnt live up to the hype, specially considering the price i had to pay.
If you want an American/Carribean Resort Style family stay(average rooms, decent price, many restuarants, beach, many activities..) while in Dubai , then this is the place to be!

What a facade! Initially, the place seemed magical, my brother and I were only staying for 2 nights but all went wrong when I decided to visit the hair salon. Somehow shorten an inch, which throughout the experience was stated repeatedly and boldly, was misconstrued to mean leave 1 inch (I'm a guy, my hair was roughly 4-5 inches pre-disaster) by the barber; and due to my inability to see without my glasses, the man of Syrian descent dealt a single defeating blow to my mood for the rest of the trip. Managers were incompetent and rude; somehow offering the haircut free was determined to be the only recourse; and after a ladder of such managers, there was very little in the way of additional compensation (offer of either one free massage or one free dinner for two). Hopefully months later I'll grow a LITTLE bit of the hair that was stolen from me, however the sour taste of disgust for their tolerance of incompetence and terrible customer service will hardly leave my memory. In fact, it's as if they see it one way: that their customers should serve them, allowing for their jobs to be smoother and safer. What a nightmare.

This was our second visit to the Atlantis and after reading some of the reviews I was a little worried that it wouldn't be as good as our first. However, although we stayed in a suite the first time round and this time we were only in a club room it was actually even better than before. The whole experience from getting out the taxi to eating dinner is wonderful - all the staff we met were extremely helpful, polite and smiling. We ate out at 3 of the restaurants within the hotel and enjoyed every meal - the buffet experience was probably our least favourite but it was good value and great if you're really hungry. I definately recommend the club rooms as breakfast is included, the bathrooms are amazing and you get free access to food and drinks all day, including champayne and canapes in the evening. I can't wait until our next visit! P.S if you are a lover of diamonds try visiting Cara Jewellers in the Gold and Diamond Park - they are fab!

I was in Atlantis the Palm in 3rd week of Feb 2010. The resort is very beautiful and huge. Paradise for kids.
The resort doesn’t have Beach the so-called beach has still water around.
Pool is very beautiful and every one stick around pool.
The water park is fun for kids, but any one can come to Water Park buying a ticket. Do take care of your kids and be close to them. I have seen a single guy in the children water park area pleasing himself hand in his shorts. He was there whole day & security just ignored him.
The crowd you find here consist of very thick accent English speaking guys, Ex Soviet, you will not understand a world they speak and newly rich Chinese, these guys want to do 100 things at a time. You will find them running all over the place. If you have week stomach don’t go into the washroom with one of them the noise they will make, you will puke.
Overall if you can avoid some of these you will have great time.

We stayed at the Atlantis for 6 nights half board and we all had a fantastic time.

Food and Drink :
The half board is totally flexible and if you are eating out of the hotel or going on a desert tour you can take your half board as lunch. The Atlantis offers you 6 restaurants to eat at so the choice is excellent. It even included the Michael Rostang restaurant. This chef holds Two-star Michelin stars. Just the wine to pay for so it makes for a very cost efficiant option. The other restaurants are - The Edge, The Shore, Kaleidescope, Saffron and Nasimi beach. The food at all six restaurants was brilliant. We also at at Ronda Locateli which we paid full price for on our last night. 3 courses and a bottle of wine was £150.00 for myself and my wife. The half board worked out at £150.00 per head for 6 nights. £25 per day.
Drinks were expensive with the cheapest bottle of wine at £23. Beers were £8, Wine by the glass started at £6 and cocktails were £9. If you like a few drinks there is a 50% discount at Nasimi beach between 4 and 6 and also at The Shore between 6 and 8 so theres plenty of time to get some good priced drinks.

Rooms :
The hotel had a great standard of quality. Check-in was fast and our rooms were ready even though we checked in at 9-00am. The rooms are very large, great beds and bathrooms and come with balcony or french balcony. Request a pool and palm view its fantastic. There was a turn down service every night and bottles on water every day. They also dropped in with a large bowl of fruit for the week. On my mums birthday she was given a birthday card and cake from the staff.

Pool and Activities :
The main pool area was very nice and had lots of sun beds and fresh towels, there was also a smaller pool for children. The only thing that was missing was a jacuzzi. The beach is man made but is still very nice.
The view of the city skyline both through the day and at night was great.
As a resident you get free access to the aquaventure water park which was great (not as good as Wild Wadi) but great fun. You can aslo visit the Lost Chambers to see the fish.
On her birthday my mum took part in the Dolphin interaction which she said was fantastic. Take plenty of photos as the ones they are selling are very expensive.

All in all an amazing hotel for all age groups and we would go back tomorrow.
Book the half board if you are on a bit of a budget, it will save you a fortune in the long run.
