Did not know what to expect with the reviews of this hotel.
We had no complaints with our large one bedroom apartment. Clean,King size bed.large self contained kitchen and two toilets.
Hotel is only 15 minutes from the Airport so great after a long flight from Australia. Check in was easy and no delays. Front desk advised where restaurant was and times it was open. Small shopping Mall across the road for lunch, coffee etc.
Definately no complaints but away from the main attactions means a taxi or train into main Dubai.

Room Tip: The one bedroom appartments are large

I never heard that the hotel staff don't know the location into there Hotel !!! even he was for almost 1 year the receptionist still don't know....Really Funny. The only one knows is the duty manager and he wasn't there at the beginning .....
First you will find the unprofessional staff face to face at the Reception ( Except a gentelman name ALI) OMG and thanks God there is that Gentleman ALI to understand what you want and to help you as a professional way.
--Rooms are big ,however DIRTY ,Sweat Smell from the pillows (and sorry Sir we don't have new one to change them )
,uncleaned Equipment's at the kitchen, Bath towel with wholes :-( , To much something flying around the room.
Housekeeping OMG. 3 to 5 mint cleaning and thats all....
If you need to get internet you need to go down as they don't send to your room the password and user name :-( .....
i Don't Recommend that hotel for family as at the main door at night OMG full for street girls for sale ......

The only thing i find is that they have there own Parking :-) ...

My believe that these Hotel should not be at 4stars or they should review there performance to improve as i heard that at of complaints has be there since more than a year about the same stuff and never improved or any changes.

Room Tip: The Good Tips to help travelers to choose is NOT TO CHOOSE these Hotel and to keep it as there last...

as Dubai is famed for its high standard of customer service, I was shocked when I came here. This should be a 2 star at most, it's absolutely filthy and the staff unprofessional, I checked out after 2 days. The first room they gave us had faulty air con, long dark hair all over the kitchen floor, food splattered all over the microwave and dust everywhere. One of the maintenance men looked at me as if I was strange for complaining of a 25 degree room temp and saying the place was dirty. We changed rooms and the second one was superficially clean but still substandard. The micro was dirty, the rubbish bin stunk and the kitchen equipment wouldnt fetch 50p at a car boot sale. The pans had bits of curry and oil in them so a trip to Ikea ensued for some cheap cups etc. And hangers too- there were only 3 in the wardrobe. The noise of the planes was unbearable and that's coming from a former air hostess so it must have been bad! The bathroom was also a disgrace- a coaster was used as a soap dish, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up- word of caution to male guests :)- the towels were threadbare and the shower head was rusted. The bed had all its life bounced out of it and made for a painful nights sleep. If that wasn't enough, the corridors were a disgrace too, with stained carpets and a hum of oil, smoke, BO and old food. When I was on my own, I felt the male staff leering at me and felt rather uneasy. Best avoided.

Room Tip: Theyre all noisy- one wing has aircraft noise, the other has street and high heels noise- your choic...

This hotel is a hub for Americans coming in and out of Afghanistan so it is occupied with at least 3 to 4 Americans in the room. There's always sooooo many people in the Lobby and standing outside that it is unpleasant to just simply walk into your room or stand outside to get a cab. The rooms are big but basic and the service at the hotel counter was below average. I recommend choosing another hotel and also the Internet is overpriced and don't work up to par.

Nothing special about this place.
The room was large, the kitchen corner fully furnished.
The bathroom clean and good size with a bathtube.
Free parking.

The mall in front (Creek) as absolutely no interest at all (a part for Pinoy maybe)

Unfortunately the room was occupied before us by smoker (even if not allowed to smoke) and was very smelly. Not to mentioned the wake up in the middle of the night with fire alarm and evacuation of the building because a smoker started a detector :( )

We had to fight to get the washing machine running as they claim it was supposed to be a paid extra (while it was supposed to be included in reservation).

Stayed for just 1 night. The room was ok. Stayed in a large 'apartment' room with a full kitchen and sitting area. The light switches are a little different with a lot of lights. The bed was fine but had just 1 pillow. The internet didn't work in our room after paying $29 even being on the 1st floor. We ended up getting a ethernet cable and the connection was moderate. The sink in the bathroom was clogged, didn't drain at all. Stayed in Rm 129 near the elevator so there was a lot of foot traffic outside the door. The room overlooks the courtyard. There is a small mall across the street with a pharmacy and food market, which is convenient. A short drive to the airport and creek.

Room Tip: Ask for a queen or king bed, the singles are small.

I unfortunately booked at the StarMetro Hotel through my travel agent and arrived at the hotel on the 31st of Dec 2011. The reception staff refused to accept my confirmed booking (made on the agents booking system with my credit card) , I had booked two room for the family and ended up having to book a room for three time my original rate !! the service was terrible, reception staff were dishonest and after paying for a suite I did not even have soap and shampoo in the second bathroom.

This is a property managed by unprofessional and dishonest staff, I recommend that none of my fellow TA members share my fate :(

Room Tip: dont stay here
