“Could actually do better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

3rd time we are staying at the Xclusive - this time it was Daddy, Mommy, a child and an infant. As always, a baby cot was provided but unlike the other 2 times we had stayed at the hotel, this time around, we had to keep calling the reception/ housekeeping for basic stuffs like cereal bowls, and even replacement of toilet papers... Room took so long before it got cleaned - sometimes as late as 5pm dubai time. Front desk was helpful though the presence of one or more trainees at the front desk meant that there were some challenges, which were resolved eventually though. The let down on this particular trip was the fact that we were advised a different rate for the room before we left our country and we even paid the advance for 2 nights, only to be informed that the rates were slightly higher than what we were advised earlier when we wanted to check in. We left stuff like bucket, dish washing liquid, washing machine detergent etc but I have a feeling that when next we are at the Xclusive, the kitchen will still tell us that they do not have any buckets, or chopping board for us. The staff were helpful though, and responded as quick as possible to any requests we made. I was also able to negotiate a 4GB internet package for the duration of the one week that we spent at the hotel. We did not use the restaurant as we ate out most of the time, so I do not have any opinion about the restaurant. The roof top pool is awesome also, and the fitness centre is equally cool.

Room Tip: Rm 208 in which we stayed had no issues. It was on a floor that was easily accessible in event of th...

We were two families with kids staying here a week in february 2013. The clean two-bedroom appartments fulfilled our needs. Not luxurious, but great value. We even used the small rooftop pool, which was heated. Not much to do in the neighborhood, convenient with a small supermarket across the street, and a 24-hour supermarket Spinneys a 5 minute walk away.
Combined with low taxi fares and day passes on more luxurious Beach/Pool resorts we had a great holiday.
The cleaning personnel greeted us with smiles, I only wish the receptionists did the same.
Internet charges are also outrageous.

This Hotel is well situated reasonably close to the Burjuman Shopping Centre on the Red line metro. It is several stops from Downtown but the Metro is really fast and efficient.
There is a Spinneys grocery store nearby which is open 24 hours and is very convenient. The Units have a kitchenette and are quiet spacious. The Bedroom and Living space was clean and comfortable however I was quite disappointed with the condition of the Bathroom. This was one of the rare occassions where I was let down by other Trip advisor referrals. Room 204 needs a tile and grout makeover as seen in my attached pictures. Clean, pristine bathrooms are important to me and this bathroom needs work. The rest of the hotel was clean and appeared well maintained. Staff were polite and I had no real issues. However, I never really felt overly welcomed like many other places I have stayed at.
Internet charges were 20 Durhams for 1 hour which was somewhat annoying however free Wifi in Dubai is generally not as available as in North America. Aparently most hotels (unless they are "upscale") charge for internet usage.
I was also annoyed by having to go shopping for dishsoap and paper towels which is not provided. Even a small amount in a complimentary starter package would have been nice.
I personally would not agree with the " best rating for 2013 " per the plaque on the wall.
I do not want to be too negative but do want others to be aware of the condition of Room 204 and my own observations.

Room Tip: Room 204 requires some maintenance.

We've had amazing times every single time we've been there. The kitchen is amazing and you can make anything with both fridge, oven, mixmaster and so on. The hotel lays right next to a cheap supermarket where you can buy the most necessary items for your stay. If you need a bigger supermarket, there is a "spinneys" just around the corner (we walked to the place almost every day). As for shopping, there is a shopping mall very close to the hotel called "Bur Juman", where they have "Victorias secret", "Louis Vuitton", "Accessorize" and several other shops. If you want a bigger mall or want to visit "Dubai Mall" or "Mall of the Emirates", the railway station is right next to "Bur Juman". However, it is also reaaly chep to travel by taxi.

The pool on the top of the hotel has a great view of Burj Khalifa and it is a place where the sun really shines... Therefore, I would recommend to take a taxi or bus to the beaches, due to the fact that it feels like torture to lay in the sun there, for more than two hours.

On the other hand, the service at the hotel is amazing, and if you asked for anything, you'd have it within minutes. I never visited the restaurant, so I can't say either negative or positive things about it.

The room is great. And as we were four, we had two bedrooms, two baths, one living room, one kitchen and one balcony. The room was very big and very modern. And it was allways clean and smelled so fresh. I loved every day of our stay and that was partly because of our great hotel. We've now visited the same hotel for 3 times, and we have never been disappointed.

In conclusion it is a great hotel with great service, big, modern rooms, AMAZING location and good value! We are going to Dubai again in the winter holiday, and I can't wait to arrive at my favorite hotel!

I am only 15 years old, but I really wanted to share my impressions. I'm sorry about my fluency in english, but I am from Norway.

Had been to the property completely relying on trip advisor reviews. Had booke a single room apartment for 3 adults and a kid. On arrival the manager was so kind to upgrade us to a two bed room apartment. The staff was really courteous. A TV in the living room and one of the bedroom, a good pool, clean, and attentive staff on cleaning and changing the towels. The hotel is placed on a central location close to Burjuman Mall and other amenties. A supermarket is available just opposite to the hotel. Overall it was a wonderful experience and worth the money spent. Thanks trip advisor.

Room Tip: though no particular view, would be nice if you get to have a room on the higher floor with view tow...

Stayed 17-23 Jan 2013. Tripadvisor winner well deserved. Received free upgrade to 2 bed 3 bathroom apartment. Complementary pick up and drop off at airport (even at 5am on departure). Complementary Wifi, water and daily newspapers. Daily butler service. (all complementary amenities were confirmed by hotel via email prior to arrival). Got good rate from hotels.com (£68 per night) and further reduced by price promise. Very clean, huge, comfortable apartment with massive flat screen TV’s in lounge and master bedroom. Can’t fault the customer service given by hotel staff.

Metro stations and Spinneys supermarket 5-10 mins away. Small supermarket just across road. Hotel sits in a residential area between 2 metro stations, excellent food shopping and discount clothing outlets too numerous to mention. Used Burjuman metro station mostly as Mr Chatt, (Indian street food) just outside metro station and definitely not to be missed. The masala dosa, uttapam and chatt were so fab we ate there for lunch a few times and didn’t spend more than £5 in total including the drinks! Also just outside Burjuman, at traffic lights, on corner is good South Indian restaurant called Aryaas. Here they serve tasters of idly and dosas (Mini Tiffin) and a selection of uttapams served with selection of 8 chutneys. Absolutely delicious and our waiter Captain John was excellent in explaining and advising us – evening meal cost us £10 in total including drinks.

Burjuman Mall regularly presented free live musical/Broadway shows in the centre of the Mall and the food court on the top level had a great ambience with water fountain features and good choice of restaurants. We ate at Hatam (Persian) and the mixed kebabs and lamb stew were of excellent quality. Evening meal here was £16 for starters and mains for 2 including drinks.

Would recommend using the metro as it was efficient and cheap. 14 AED (about £3) for an all zones, all day, pass. This got us to all the major sites (Malls, Creek, souks, museums) for a fraction of the cost of taxis, which we thought were fairly expensive for multiple usages, unless you managed to get a metered one. The Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall have walkways directly to them from their respective metro stations. Took the desert safari trip recommended by hotel and it was excellent.

Alcohol tip – you can take in checked luggage no problem and there is a duty free shop in Dubai Airport as you arrive and before you collect luggage which has a large selection of alcohol at reasonable prices. We would recommend a visit to Dubai and a stay at Xclusive hotel and apartments in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms may have best view.

We stayed in a "deluxe" room, which was fantastic value for Dubai. The living room opened onto a balcony (no view) and had a large wall mounted flat screen TV with cable. There was free wi-fi and a full kitchen, dining room table, and a clothing washer (no dryer, but the hotel delivered a laundry rack for the balcony without asking). There was a large bedroom with another large wall mounted TV and ample closets with ironing board and en suite. Finally, there was a 2nd powder room. There is an outdoor pool on the roof as well as an exercise room. All this for under $100! The service and the location were fine, with a small market across the street, and a large supermarket, with a separate "non-muslim" meat department (ie. bacon, ham and sausages), as well as ATMs and a McDonalds. We would certainly stay here again.
