This was our second trip to Esfahan and this time I was able to enjoy even more this beautiful place. The best time to visit it is in late afternoon or in the evening. You can just sit and enjoy this masterpiece of architecture and watch people walking or having picknick at lawn.

I think it would be better to see all those things not in the middle of the day. There is a lot of shade to rest and a lot of things to see - but the sun can be dangerous.

This square is one of the most important attractions of Isfahan and Iran. The main name is Naghshe Jahan (the design of all the world) square. The reason of this name is that the foreigners believed that they can see the design of all the world in this square. It is the biggest historical square after a square in Beijing. It is designated by UNESCO as a universal heritage site.
The most important monuments in this beautiful square are:
1- Royal (Imam) Mosque
2- Palace of Aliqapu
3- Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque
4- Qeisarieh Portal
This square used to be a place for playing polo.
All around the square is full of handicrafts shops such as: Carpet, Copper, Enamel, Calico, Miniature and etc.
If you walk through Qeisarieh Portal, you will reach Jaame mosque which is a architectural museum. You can also walk to Chehel Sotoon Palace which is very close to the square.
