The whole experience of this hotel wasn't great:
- arriving at 6pm, we were sent away for an hour while they made the rooms up (even in low season you expect the hotel to have rooms ready for guests)
- we had to persuade the staff to give us keys to our rooms (they thought we'd be happy just to lock the door from the inside, and not bother when leaving the room);
- something that looked like dried vomit in the sink;
- no top sheet provided so just a grubby looking blanket to cover with (fortunately there was a pile of clean sheets in the lobby so we helped ourselves);
- no water in the rooms at all in the morning;
- no sign of breakfast or any kitchen staff even by 9am.
Positives were free internet access and a good location.
We negotiated the price down to $40 when we arrived but even at this price, the problems we had made it an unpleasant stay.

The hotel is located next to the Cafes of Bardawi, which is full of excellent restaurants. Many people from Beirut come here just for dinner and the food is said to be one of the best in Lebanon. The location could not be better.

The rooms are poor and old. The old carpet was full of stains, and there were many other problems in the rooms as well. However, this was reflected in the price so I would not complain so much. If I would stay in Zahle, I would stay in this hotel again. The rooms were large and quite, despite the restaurants being just next to our balcony. If the room quality is your priority, there are other more expensive options in Zahle.
Breakfast was the best we had in Lebanon. The staff was very friendly.

This hotel is right at the heart of the Bardouni cafes so location-wise it is ideal. It also has free parking at the back of the hotel which is handy.
The room itself was adequate - a bit small but clean. Unfortunately they only had rooms with twin beds - no double beds. The bathroom was large & clean.
There appeared to be only one member of staff who spoke english and a limited number who spoke french, so it caused a few problems.
The general areas of the hotel itself are very dirty, smelly & uninviting - plates of half eaten food left about for hours, cats wandering about the hotel.
Breakfast when it finally came was very good however the kitchen didn't open in the morning till 9.30am - bit of a nuicance esp when we had enquired when we couldl get breakfast & were told anytime from 7am.
We had planned to stay here for 3 nights but checked out after one night & decided to splurge a little on a room at the Grand Hotel Kadri down the room - well worth the splurge!
I think you would be better eating at the Arabi rather than staying here, but if you are strapped for cash it could be a good option.
