This is a very good hotel....
Pros:
friendly staff
cleanly maintained
Air port transit available

Cons:
No free internet
Provides Membership cards, bla bla without permission, I receive lot of emails to my official mail regarding offers.

The hotel is centrally located in Jeddah, it's good for business travels. The room is so spacious for 2 persons but it definitely need an immediate renovation. I think it had been like this for years without any renovation. It's as simple as bedroom, there is no luxury touches of any mean, even the coffee/tea set is not there !!

I stayed here on November 2012 after Hajj Season, waiting for my flight back home.

Anyway, this hotel was just fine. I experienced neither bad things nor excellent things. Everything was just fine. Room was clean and nice although dated. Breakfast was just okay. Amenities were complete and good. Compared to Marriott in Jakarta, I believe that this one should be scored a level below :) Sorry. But if you would stay here, it is still recommended :)

Most hotels that I have been in the Middle East are crap.. plane crap..

Service is close to non existant and food is crap.. only saving grace is the rooms are big.. but then the middle east never has space problems.. they have people problems..

Service in most middle east hotels is like this so.. i don't know if i should blame the middle east or Marriott???

The breakfast is average.. not too bad i would say...

I stayed at this Marriott in 2010 and already at that time I wasn't impressed and thought the place needed a face lift.
Three years later it only got worse!
The elevators are slow and cramped.
The layout of the meeting rooms on the MZ floor is complicated and not efficient.
The restaurant looks 70's. The service is average. When I ordered a Perrier the bottle was simple dumped on my table. I had to unscrew it myself and not even a slice of lemon. The waiter brought a couple of lemon slices without a word or an expression on his face.

The room: needs paint, no walk in shower, the water temperature is still 70's style (2 taps that are hopeless to get to the right temperature). The airco is either too hot or too cold.

Bottom line: Nothing has changed in these 3 years, not a penny of investment. Great for Marriott's balance sheet, but bad for customer satisfaction. I advice everybody to look elsewhere. I will!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time provide feedback on your recent stay at the Jeddah Marriott and apologize that your experience was less than satisfactory. We appreciate that some of the hotel facilities and décor is dated. We are in the process of finalizing a complete renovation program to ensure that Marriott standards are in place. Preliminary works are expected to start by end of first quarter next year. In the meantime we will be addressing the service issue in the restaurant and tackling some of the cosmetic work you noted. While our facilities may be dated, we have no excuse not to provide hospitable service in a clean and well maintained environment.

Hotel is fine but the building is old as it was built many years ago. Staff is very friendly and food is good. This hotel is located in the heart of the city and very convenient to downtown Jeddah. You definitely need a car to go around and there are many taxies available outside the hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and either looking at the city or at the pool.

Sleeping is just heaven they have the most compfortable beds; the pillows are marvellous!!
The bufet is nice and their food is delicious :)
Friendly staff and very helpful
you will find so many things to do in jeddah going to the corniche and going shopping in the malls :)
