“Great service, older property, no executive lounge”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

Typical Saudi property, a bit dingy inside, but helpful and efficient staff. There is no executive lounge at this property.
If you have to visit Jeddah, this property is OK. Once you get past the stale smell of smoke in the rooms, the tired and dingy look, the place is friendly and the staff helpful.

This is not the first time i stay in this hotel, i was there 5 years ago but don't recall any of the issues i had this trip.
The hotel is old, but very well maintained, the lobby is huge and very relaxing, the staff is extremely friendly. The med and mattress are quite comfortable. The food is good, buffet is average in size but tasty, the restaurant in the lobby is perfect. The gym is perfect and the outdoor swimming pool is convenient after a long hot day. however, for the following points i will not come back to this hotel:
1-on high floors, you can hear the noise from the AC compressor on the roof, i had to change my room from the 5th floor to the 4th floor, i could always hear the sound but i gave up, and finally adapted to sleep with the noise on
2-Palestine street is always busy, so getting in and out of the hotel takes time
3-if you are not the type that prays at 4:30AM, make sure you book a room where you don't hear the moske loud speakers.
4-Internet is not free and is expensive, 80SAR+16% tax for 24hours, so just go and buy a 3g Dongle and use in on your laptop for 100SAR / 5Gb (mobily or STC)

Room Tip: Rooms in low floors and away from the moske are perfect. avoid connected rooms

Stayed there as the rest of the group I was with was there and stays there often. I have stayed there before for the same reason.
It was conveniently located.
Service was excellent in all matters, specially reception staff, each one of them, and a little special thanks to Mohammed Qadri who was very helpful in getting my Boarding Card printed as he added that little special service that shows that someone wants to help you.
Rooms definitely need upgrading, and specially the carpets and bathrooms.
Beds were very comfortable.
Space in the room was very adequate with a good desk area. No WiFi in the room, only cable so Ok for the laptop, but not for handheld devices, but WiFi was available throughout the Lobby.
I had arranged for a car to the airport, and was sitting in the lobby with my colleagues and the car rental desk staff came to look for me in time and to make sure I was not late.
Definitely one of those hotels that the people is what makes you want to stay there again.
Once it is upgraded it could well deserve a 5.
The rate I got was very very good.

I stayed in Jeddah Marriott Hotel, The hotel was nice a bit old fashioned in design, We stayed in a junior suit in the first floor it was comfortable but we were surprised by the furniture quality, the couches in the sitting room are very old and in a not so pleasant status, TV cabinets look cheap like if they were made by a non professional carpenter especially the finishing, other than that the hotel is very good.

What i didn't like is the neighborhood which is in Palestine Street, it seemed like a below average neighborhood, to reach to the parking of the hotel i had to turn from the back area, narrow dark streets and all the way cars parking in an un-organized way.

I don't think that i will return to this hotel because of its location.

I stay at Jeddah Marriott hotel whenever I and my wife spend time there. We see average service all the time. there is no particulars. location , food, service and lobby are so so. Please avoid to stay in a connecting room where you may not sleep due to noises from other room.
