“Great location for business and pleasure”
Reviewed January 15, 2010

The Sheraton is located on the Corniche and is also near a row of coffee shops/restaurants (Coffee Republic, Deli France, Teavana, Starbucks, Costa and few others).

The Sheraton has a main tower, and an annex. The annex is a separate building, and rooms need refurbishing, so is best avoided - refurbishment of the Annex is due in 2010.

The Club Lounge is in the main building, and serves breakfast, afternoon snacks and drinks. There is free WiFi access in the Lounge. There is a Link@Sheraton on the ground floor, which provides PCs with free Internet access and printing.

The hotel has a gym, sauna, and swimming pool. The pool is not heated, and the gym is dated. The Sheraton has a private beach which they can drive you to (30mins).

The Sheraton is a relatively small hotel, and staff provide a warm and cosy feeling - which is rare for business hotels. The staff are friendly and make a real effort to ensure all your needs are met.

Overall, I can recommend this hotel for both the business and leisure traveller.

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your review and kind words. It is our pleasure that you enjoyed your stay with us. As you correctly point out we have started a major renovation of all our bedrooms, and due to our set up we are in a position to close one complete building at a time, so guests will not be disturbed. The first building will be complete in autumn 2010. In the mean time our new fitness and meeting facilities will be completed by summer 2010. We hope to welcome you back and show you these new facilities in due course! With kind regards from the Sheraton Jeddah team.

I stayed at the Sheraton for two nights. I am a regular business traveller in the middle east and was disappointed with the standard of the rooms. They were tired, the furniture and carpets were dirty, the paint chipped and all rooms smelled of smoke - this for 190USD per night! They also charge 25USD to use the internet in the room - surely a free service now in most top-line hotels. My advice? - stay at a 3* hotel and pay a fraction of the price.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback, which is most appreciated. Please accept my apologies for the altogether disappointing experience. We pride ourselves on our superior services and facilities. Obviously, in your case we failed to deliver. You will have noticed the ongoing work in the lobby, as we are in the process of upgrading all aspects of the hotel without inconveniencing our guests. We have also started an ambitious project to renovate all bedrooms and the first newly renovated rooms are now ready. Please feel free to contact me direct on a future visit and I will be pleased to offer one of the new ly refurbished rooms, should you decide to return to our hotel. With regards to internet, in line with all Sheraton Hotels we do charge for high speed internet in the bedrooms. Internet is free of charge for all guests in the Link@Sheraton in the lobby, and Club guests also have free internet access in the Club Lounge. Whereas our internet is chargeable, it is also among the fastest in the city (faster than the free connections in some of the 3 and 4 star hotels in the city and faster than in many other 5-star hotels). We believe that a fast and hassle free connection in the comfort of your room is worth a charge. Once again, thank you very much for your feedback and despite your remarks I do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Jeddah Sheraton Hotel. The rooms are quite Arabic and slightly dated, they could do with an overhaul but when you overlook this minor fact you're staying in the best hotel in town! Service is excellent, the staff are very attentive and very forthcoming. The Chinese on the top floor serves authentic Chinese food, truly delicious. The main restaurant has a stunning garden overlooking the Red Sea, food could be more refined but nevertheless is tasty. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Best of all is the beach club. You feel as if you are in a tropical resort. Excellent diving and snorkelling, right at the shore. Great restaurant, relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic to get away from busy city life. Will hopefully return to this hidden paradise. Do not forget to visit the old town of Ballad, only 20 minutes away from this hotel..

Dear guest, thank you very much for your review and the positive comments. The Sheraton Jeddah indeed has many surprises and facilties that can contribute to making your stay in Jeddah more special and enjoyable. You will have also noticed the ongoing work and upgrading in the lobby and bedrooms. Over the next weeks the health club will be the next part of the hotel that will be transformed and will receive the latest state of the art equipment! Once again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon!

Stayed 3 days, first night in a double and others in a small suite on Club floor. Rooms as much as you expect from Sheraton although the bathroom toiletries seemed meagre. Hotel facilities were fine and used the seafood restaurant which was perfectly acceptable with a good selection of fresh fish and well cooked. Atmosphere of restaurant was more suited to families but no problem and service fine. Briefly used the coffee lounge with a "Lebanese" singer, lounge OK. The Club room was small but easy access to internet if needed. Breakfast in Club was very poor and very little selection other than basic western and Saudi, and not well presented or much imagination used - very ordinary and a disappointment. Overall staff attentive and helpful throughout hotel.

Thank you very much for your kind words, it was very good to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and especially the restaurant and the staff attitude. With regards to the Club Lounge breakfast, we are in the process of upgrading the services there, including the breakfast selection.
I can only assume that you visited another property, probably outside Saudi Arabia, on the same trip where they have a coffee lounge with a Lebanese Singer as we definitely do not have this facility in our hotel, nor is there any live entertainment in any Saudi hotel to the best of my knowledge! Once again thank you for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

I have just checked out of the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel, purely because of the low standard of the room I was offered.
I was assigned a room in the 'Nakheel' wing of the hotel which is a 1 minute, but very hot and humid, walk from the main reception.
The room is in a very poor state and certainly not up to usual Sheraton standard. These standard rooms do not seem to have undergone refurbishment in the past 20 years. The Club rooms may be of a better quality but don't expect much from this property.

The hotel does, as do most of the better Jeddah business hotels, have good leisure facilities, including a well equipped gym. The pool, however nice, is, inexplicably, closed during the cooler times of the day - and open while it is at its hottest.
Food is certainly nothing special - stick to the evening buffet which is fine but do not expect the a la carte selection to be anything to write home about.
The overall standard of service is ok but certainly not of an international standard. Unfortunately, after having visited all five star hotels in the city, this is something quite common in Jeddah.

On a last note, I am an SPG member but was not assigned a room on a Preferred Floor.

Thank you for your feedback concerning your recent stay with us, and please accept my apologies for not living up to youir high expectations.
Whilst the rooms in our Nakheel wing feature all signature Sheraton amenities such as brand new Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, state of the art tea & coffee makers and flat screen televisions, the furniture such as desk, wardrobe and bathroom fittings do date back some years. You will be pleased to hear that we have already embarked upon an ambitious program upgrading all he bedrooms in the Nakheel wing giving them a very modern, bright feel and including many new touches such as i-pod docking stations and energy saving devices. The first of these rooms will be ready in 2 weeks time and, if you visit Jeddah again and should you decide to return to the Sheraton, we will be pleased to accommodate you in one of these rooms.
Our Club Rooms and Club Lounge are located in the high rise tower with views over the Red Sea and do have a different look and feel than our Nakheel wing rooms.
As a direct result of your feedback the swimming pool hours have been amended and extended to allow guests to use the pool during the evening hours, exept at the odd times when the poolside is used for outdoor functions.
Once again, thank you very much for your constructive feedback, it is only through valuable feedback such as your that we are able to improve the services ad facilities provided. Despite your observations we do hope to welcome you back on a future visit so that you can see the changes.
Sincerely, Edwin Wijkhuys, General Manager

We stayed in Jeddah on a mixed religious and business trip and we used this hotel as a convenient base as well as the favorable comments and the option to use Starwood points. The hotel has very good business services, internet is fast and business center in the lobby has everyhthing conveniently set up. The best malls are all withing striking distance and the poolside is a nice evening spot. Being platinum guests we were upgraded to a nice suite. After the St Regis in Singapore we noticed the difference but this is a Sheraton and this is Saudi Arabia after all. Very important for South East Asians, the Chinese restaurant has the best Chinese food we could find in Jeddah or Makkah!
