“Great food”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

Service is always slow in this place because it's always packed. However the food is worth the wait and the atmosphere is very authentic..

“Oum Kalsoum, Fayrouz, Beautiful Sea Breeze, Chicha, and Murtabak!”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

Al Nakheel is a very popular local outdoors chicha lounge / Saudi restaurant. If the weather permits; it's a great place to go with friends or family..to just chill out to some great classical arabic music, in a very traditional Saudi setting.

If you're not a big chicha fan, don't worry... it's open space so it doesn't smell strong at all.

Do not forget to try one of my favorite typical local dishes called "Murtabak"; it's a type of stuffed pan-fried bread. You have to try both salty (stuffed with minced meat, or eggs, or cheese) and you have to try the sweet kind as well (stuffed with a type of sweet cheese, or banana)..as well as a series of traditional arabic "mezeh" appetizers.

I do suggest reserving in advance as it's a very popular place and high in demand..especially on the weekends and holidays.

“Authentic by Local Standards & Quality Tourestic Spot...”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Being a Saudi originally not from Jeddah, I find this place with my wife, a wonderful authentic restaurant which serves quality local dishes from the western province. I find it also a must to visit by new visitors to Jeddah by all nationalities to experience a quality introduction to the city Local flavors.

Smoking Shisha is part of the province culture in Saudi Arabia by males and females. This wonderful place, is one of the very oldest restaurants which have been serving families, singles and tourists in the city for many years now. Its food and service quality been well maintained and continuously improving. They are always packed up specially in weekend days.

Its a must to visit once if you are in Jeddah and would like to experience a good quality snap shot to the city local ulture in a very friendly atmosphere.

“Wonderful atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

We went to Al Nakheel restaurant for the first time the other night with friends and found it to be a delightful experience! Our friends ordered most of the food for our table so we were able to sample a great selection of items that they had to offer and everything was great. I loved the big over sized tables and sofa like seating they had and the big outdoor TV that had a soccer game going on at the time we were there. It is an open roof outdoor venue that made it all the more special as we sat and drank tea in the late evening hours after dinner. The sea was near by, the food was very good and the atmosphere was great, a must try if you are in Jeddah.

“Best authentic experience in Jeddah”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

If you want to experience Jeddah the way the locals do, Al Nakheel is a must. The "Karaweeta" open air seating, the Jeddah crowd and the authentic delicious Hijazi food combination is truly wonderful. Don't miss the best Mutabaq in Jeddah, both sweet and savoury.
