We arrived here using the Vientiane bus and arrived at about midnight and were quite worried seeing the lights off. Fortunately we were able to wake someone who despite losing our booking allowed us to get balcony room straight away - we had booked months ago and it appeared it was originally written in pencil and had rubbed out unfortunately. The room was cosy and had creepy love heart pillows but we found the beds comfortable and woke up early to see the alms ceremony. If you are in any way interested in taking part in the ceremony or watching from an obscured vantage point this hotel is highly recommended. Before check out we showed our confirmation email and everything was sorted out fine. We found the location good for exploring the markets and seeing Luang Prabang in general.

I rated this place poor, since a hotel is primarily for sleeping, and in the Villa Senesouk we had big problems with that. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms in the front.
The biggest problem was that the bed was so hard, I almost thought they forgot to put a mattress in. We were so uncomfortable, we woke many times a night. We liked the balcony for reading a book after strolling to the town (the location of the hotel is very good, near all the sights), and it was excellent for viewing the alms giving ceremony at a respectful distance, but the location of our room also meant noise from 4 in the morning (gongs, tourists, rice sellers and drums...). We stayed three nights, so we didn't want to wake up every morning. Perhaps a quieter room in the back would have suited us better and would not have requiered earplugs.
The hotel looks nice and the room is nicely decorated and clean, but small. The bathroom is okay. The staffs English is very poor, they are not very helpful and rather watch Lao an Thai soaps on television than pay attention to their guests.
We would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't pick a room in the front if you're staying more than one night and make sure the mattr...

This place is old and dirty.

The wet room (bathroom) has an electric water heater giving you a lukewarm shower, and bathroom floor looks like it hasn't been scrubbed in a month at least.

Our sink doesn't drain well and it's because there's hair and maybe floss stuck in the drain, maybe from the last few guests.

Bed is very hard (and we typically like hard beds)

We planned to stay a few days at senesouk. But first thing we saw was dirty sheets. So we asked the employee to change the sheets which he did, but with another filthy sheet. Beside the whole room was in unacceptable conditions, especially when you pay 40$ a night. This isn't worth it. When you love to have a clean room I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

Good quiet location on main road at quieter end of town but within easy reach of restaurants and bars. Rooms clean and comfortable but a bit dark very little natural light and lots of dark wood Shower lukewarm at highest temperature, quite a few power cuts whilst we were there. There is a tranquil courtyard and constant free tea coffee and chilled water a lovely place to sit for a while.A good location to see the monks morning alms ritual Staff mostly young slightly scruffy lads seemed more interested in watching television not very helpful.

Room Tip: rooms at front for best views of monks but rooms a back for a quiet night

Just arrived back from a business trip to Laos . I always enjoy staying at Villa Senesouk , which covers all my need and the Manager there arranges all my travels throughout Laos by private car.
This time I had some extra days to spare after an exhousting trip and I enjoyed the hospitality of the NEW VILLA SENESOUK, which is located across the Nam Khan river , next to Apsara Rive Droite.
The villa has only 8 rooms, all large and gorgeous with a colonial ambience and elegance.
The bathrooms are very big and have a bathtub too. Balconies are all around with views either of the river or nearby hills.
A small restaurant offers Lao and Western dishes.
A great little villa in superb setting offering personal service and relaxation.
Summary ; A great location for a reasonable price , I can strongly recommend staying there.

This place offers VFM. Great location if you want to see the early morning Monk rituals. I loved the architecture and the local food just two minutes down the road. Laos is the best kept secret in this part of Asia
