Enjoyed a wonderful week-long stay at this boutique hotel just a 5 min walk from the main street.
Some of the ground level rooms would lack privacy as the only way to let the natural light and air in was to open the doors that lead directly onto the garden where breakfast is served and has people regularly walking through.
The Orchid Suite was perfect for a long stay. Quiet, lots of windows, great balcony from which we could watch the alms ceremony each morning.
Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and we enjoyed long leisurely breakfasts among the frangipani trees.
Staff were friendly, attentive, helpful and many.
A wonderful place to retreat to during downpours. I'd definitely stay here again for the relaxing tranquility it offered.

Great place to stay in the mid range price point. The rooms were very good sized, right on the path for morning alms, and the breakfast was huge. The service was great with helping us around town and giving us ideas on things to do and places to eat. Highly recommend this place. We stayed for three nights.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during Pi Mai (Laos New Year). I have booked the frangipani room via the hotel website. Evelyn, the hotel manager, has been most helpful in our room selection. I wanted a corner room ( because we wake up early) and Evelyn has suggested frangipani room 13, a corner room on the 2nd floor away from the main street. It has a king bed and an open shower. A screen can be installed if asked. Each room is equipped with its own air-conditioning unit and fan. It did not bother me not to have a television or a hairdryer in the room. Hairdryer can be borrowed from the front desk with a deposit.
Since we stayed during Pi Mai, the hotel staff had warned us regarding possible water shortage. The hotel supplied a big container and adviced guests to keep the bucket full. Sure enough running water supply was stopped for a few hours during the day and resumed after 8 pm.
Breakfast was the best part of our stay. It was made to order. I ordered one of everything on the menu. That includes French toasts, toasted baguettes, noodle soup, omelette, coffee, tea, fruit shake, various juices and mixed fruit plate. We generally could skip lunch after we had breakfast. Breakfast is served in the garden where it offers a quiet and relaxed environment.
Andrew, the owner of the hotel, took us to an orphanage, one if the several projects he has been working on. It was nice of him to take the time to share.
All-in-all, it was a wonderful experience staying at Lotus Villa. I would stay here again.

We had 4 lovely nights at this well maintained, well managed, and conveniently located guesthouse. It has a super "local feel"as it is right in a neighbourhood, and walking distance to all the main sites in Luang Prabang UNESCO area. The staff are very friendly, and very accomodating as is the management. We had an unfortunate incident of my camera going missing, and the management bent over backwards to help with the return of it, even though that did not happen I felt it was very professionally dealt with.
Our room was very comfortable, with everything a person needs, and the breakfast is delicious, possibly the best one yet as we have been travelling 10 months straight now.
I would highly recommend this guesthouse and should we return to Luang Prabang we would stay again. The Canadian Manager is definately an assest, and goes out of her way to ensure each guest is a priority, and ensures that the best possible service by staff is provided.

Room Tip: We requested a terrace room due to a leg injury of my husbands, and to avoid the narrow slippery ste...

There is no doubt you will thank them.
The Canadian manager is 'une personne extraordinaire'.
She is highly professional who wants all the best for the clientele and employee.
She provided not only important support and help made us enjoying and feel special. It is difficult to forget her kindness.

The breakfast is a real tart and you can have breakfast up to eleven o'clock a.m. giving the opportunity to enjoy a late breakfast.

The garden courtyard is a delight to sit at the tables for breakfast and coffees.

They provide good work and love to their employees, it is very nice to observe and are doing a great job to help Lao earning a leaving. It is exquisite because you are served by local people that are happy to work for the hotel you can speak to them and learn about their culture.

We had such a nice time in the hotel we really recommend it!

Merci

Danielle et Paul

We stayed at the Lotus Villa for three nights in a Frangipani Room in March 2013. The booking process was very simple. We basically sent an e-mail to the hotel to confirm availability and paid for our room via PayPal. The hotel is located in the heart of the world heritage area and you can reach all main attractions on foot. The monk procession in the morning passes by the hotel and it is very easy to withness it without interfering with this important buddhist happening.

Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the staff on site. The hotel employs only Lao nationals except for the manager who is a very friendly and energetic Canadian woman, Evelyn. From the first moment the staff went the extra step to make sure that we had everything we wanted and were enjoying our stay in Luang Prabang.

Our room was located directly on the road and was very big. From the window-door you could access the nice patio where breakfast is served every morning. It had all the amenities you need and the bed was very comfortable. The only minor negative we found is that the shower is not separated from the rest of the bathroom, except for a plastic curtain, which meant that the whole bathroom was completely wet after a shower. No big issue, though.

The highlight of the stay were the three amazing breakfast. You get a very nice menu from which you can choose any item you wish. Some fabulous homemade jams were offered, all this in the middle of the tropical garden in the patio.

The hotel also has a foundation that helps childrean and offers can be made in a box located on the reception desk. We found this a very nice initiative.

All in all, we loved our stay at the Lotus Villa. It offers fantastic value and is located right in the center of Luang Prabang. We suggest Lotus Villa to everybody.

We spent 4 days in Luang Prabang staying at the Lotus villa. The staff are friendly and will try and help where they can. Their English is reasonable, and with a bi of body language, you can get by fairly easily. In front and at the back of the hotel, there are several cockerels and agreed with other reviews. They get up very early, and may disturb your sleep. Mine get up early as my habit and went to the morning market and see the local sellers.
The rooms itself is comfortable although the beds was hard. I think this is common for all Asian hotels the rooms were clean but i found them very dark. There was very poor lighting, which is great if you want to just chill and sleep, but not so well for reading. The breakfast was very limited, but when you consider its only a small hotel, i guess that's to be expected. What they serve, they serve well. its great to see the ladies cutting the leaf off a plant in the garden, and then have them serve your scrambled egg on the same leaf. it is well located for town. its also right around the corner from “big brother mouse”.

Room Tip: The map Lotus Villa provided with their favorite places in Luang Prabang was a great resource and he...
