One of the first resturants we visited on our recent trip to Laos (Dec/Jan) and a great start to our culinary experience. We visited off-peak (late lunchtime) and chose the restaurant mainly because, when we had walked past the previous night, it had been very busy and the cooking area was situated out front, so you could see the two ladies cooking everything fresh.
We chose pad thai (which we both rated as very good) and a green chicken curry. The latter was also very good, but was slightly spicy (which was fine by us). There was a bit of a wait (20 or 25 mins or so) but we were happy to wait for fresh food - so fresh, that we saw a second cook arrive with fresh vegetables whilst we were waiting.
Yes, as per a previous review, the donwstairs loo could be an issue for some people but this would be the only negative we could think of.
Our only disappointment is that, when we returned two evenings later, around 9pm, they had finished serving (in fairness, it was New Year's Day).
