“Beautiful!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Simply beautiful! But go later in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. We took a tuktuk from town (200 000kip) and got there when most people were leaving so we were able to enjoy the more peaceful side of Kuang Si Waterfalls... The Asian Black Bear rescue center is also a must see, if for no other reason than to be educated...

“Amazing - just like the pictures”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

The waterfall is really picturesque and you can even climb up to the top of it and look over. It was a great few hours. There is also the bear park and a restaurant in the grounds.

“Wonderful visit”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Beautiful falls, amazing water and a rare opportunity to swim in comfort. Great place to spend a day and there is a cafe there as well. Just bear in mind that if you leave to get food or beer in the village you will have to pay back in again. The bear sanctuary is also in there and worth a look.

“Avoid transport with All Lao Travel”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

I could go on about how beautiful the Falls were and they are lovely. Enough other reviews cover that.

There were stalls outside the entry to buy beer, food and tourist junk. These were pleasant and the locals were very friendly inside and outside the entry. Like everything else in Laos, it is all cheap and good quality.

I booked a seat on a bus with ALL Lao Travel on the Main strip. I think it was 50,000 kip. Avoid this place. They give wrong information about timing and don't seem to care one way or the other. The most infuriating thing was the driver they organised stopped en route after receiving a phone call. He would not explain why we stopped or how long it would be. We ended up sitting 40 minutes in a cramped van waiting for another van to dump more people off to join our van. They should not have made 12 people wait that long. The driver knew what I was asking because he spoke french and lao and a french guy who spoke english translated for him and they both thought it was funny that I wanted to know how long.

The driver and ALL Laos travel also did not explain the visit to this local "village" It was a loop that you walk. Running the gauntlet is more like it. I didn't know it was a loop and after having enough of girls in what looked like store-bought native costumes, desperately trying to sell me stuff, I turned around. The girls that I had already passed were so excited, thinking I was returning to buy their goods. What a let down for them and uncomfortable for me. The mini van was several hundred metres down the road at the end of the loop. Fortunately there was not a bend n the road or I would have been quite alarmed. If someone had explained that there was a loop, I would have persevered and not gone back and disappointed those poor girls.

My advice, negotiate with a private driver. You can easily hook up with other tourists to do this and you will be able to dictate terms easier.
