We were expecting a stunning view but it was disappointing. The view is Ok. Nothing special. It’s very crowded and I really don’t understand why... It’s really hyped up.

It’s an easy climb to the top, you can go and see for yourself....

This provides great views over Lunag Prabang and is worth the climb in the sweltering heat.
I decided not to worry about the sun set and just go in the afternoon. As a result I had uninterrupted views. Whilst I have no doubt the view at sunset is amazing people I spoke to said it was so crowded that you actually didn’t see much.
I had a treat on the way down the monks were beating their drums giving a spiritual feel to the visit. You must dress appropriately on your visit due to the presence of the monks and the religious significance of this place.

Many might not agree, but I’d say: climb the mountain some other time, skip the sunset. There were so many people crammed up there in a very small space... all with cameras and selfie sticks and tripods. Gorgeous view, not very enjoyable to battle the tourists for room to breathe.

Nice climb to best view of Luang Prabang. Well maintained; and worth the climb. Sunset photos are a must.

Go for the sunset, plan ahead, at least 45 minutes and enjoy! Take an incense, light it in front of the Buddha statue and plunge in the view of Mekong and the hills when the sun goes down.. Magical..

2 different places for the sunset in luang prabang... The mekong and mount phosi. The view is gorgeous.. Of course it s crowdy and maybe go early to find your place. Nearly a 360"°view. Don t forget your repellant.

it is 20,000 to get in and it's worth taking a bottle of water with you. not the worst climb and the views at the top are great. the buildings and buddhas at the top are not as great as i hoped, but definitely worth the climb

Went to see the sunset and the amount of people on the top was absolutely terrifying. Couldn’t enjoy it peacefully because of that. Only managed to take a few photos and enjoy the view from the other side (without the sunset). Also: be prepared to pay 20 000 kip for entrance)

I saw the sunset here..its a 15 mins climb. Lot of stairs but was fun. Great views at the top and it is so relaxing to watch the sunset.

Can get busy so best to get there earlier.

The mountain is literally in the middle of town and is very impressive. The walk to the top has many steps and is best done in the cool of the early morning. The sight from the top is well worth it getting all aspects of the town
