“charming old quarter”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

I love this place, especially the night market, which I went every evening to eat and shop. They have excellent food, especially the buffet style dinner where you have lots of veggies. I didn't bargain as I felt sorry for the Laotians who were poor because of the big powers that bombed their place constantly in the past, leaving them with nothing, literally. There is a high illiteracy rate and kids were made to work at a young age. Please help them by buying goods from them.

“Very chilled”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

The Old Quarter is full of tourists but still maintains a very relaxed and chilled vibe. The night market is amazing, many good buys, great prices and some very nice quality items and eats. Shopping and restaurants in town will keep you entertained for weeks, the colonial architecture is beautiful, and there are many temples to explore including a15 minute trip up to the hill-top temple for sunset. There are movies upstairs at one of the second hand bookstores every evening and many riverside cafes to relax and enjoy people watching, great food and beverages. Renting a bicycle is a great way to explore the area.

“Love Luang Prabang! ”
Reviewed May 20, 2014 via mobile

The streets are filled with such lovely, friendly people who greet you with a smile and 'Sabaidee'. You can hear monks chanting in the temples in the evenings too. Very quaint, well cared for and friendly. Well worth exploring.

“Lao culture”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

This is old capital of Lao. You can see a lot of interesting in Lao's culture in this city.
You also can go to Kuang Si Falls, which is natural water fall from Carboniferous - Permian limstone.

“So beautiful and real old world atmosphere”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

The old quarter is really beautiful, laid back and so well preserved and well kept by the local people. It's by far the prettiest town in Laos and has a lovely old world feel. It definitely does not feel like the 21st century when you are walking around. The local people are friendly and respectful and never try to push a sale or drag you into their restaurants. Some really nice clothes at the night market also. Really regretted not buying some as I didn't see nicer anywhere else in Laos.
