Just to share with you how I got to Tad Sae Waterfall. I took a tuktuk from town for 50,000kips per person. Then got transferred to a boat (this is inclusive in your payment).
You can ride the elephants here..
Yeah, it's a lovely waterfall and the ride was scary but fun !

Thank Fanglim

There was very little water flowing over the waterfall but we really only went for the elephant ride. The waterfall is nowhere near as nice as Kiang Si waterfall. The elephant ride was great though and you can feed them and get your picture taken with them. The elephant handler will also take pictures for you as you ride the elephant. The trip there up the river was short but pleasant and I'd recommend it as place for the elephant ride.

This was a fantastic day out. We had spent the morning at the Kuang Si Falls when our tuk tuk driver said that for another $25 he could take us to Tad Sae. We agreed having had such a great day so far. The journey took us back to Luang Pragang and then about 45 mins the other side of town to a village where the tuk tuk driver parked. We then walked from this remote spot about five mins down to the river Nam Khan where we got into a long boat for the trip to Tad Sae and the elephant sanctuary (the boat cost 40,000 kip return). Once there we took a half hour ride on the elephants through picturesque scenery before returning. A wonderful afternoon out. Don't miss it.

We whew told there was only a little water coming over the falls. Yeah right ! It may be much better in rainy season. The only water came from pipe. Total waste of time and money.

Liked the 12 km walk to the fall through some amazing countryside and a mong village (i was on a gecko tour and we had a local guide)....the falls were pretty crowded, but that didn't stop us from jumping off one of the smaller falls and swinging off trees and generally having a great time....
