We booked the sanctuary v last minute during new year celebrations and were not disappointed. Lovely room with spacious balcony overlooking the pond, great helpful staff (kindly found us a tuktuk to take us to our next hotel during water throwing chaos and asked driver to pull down plastic sides to try to protect us!) and lovely Laos massage.
We didn't eat at hotel other than breakfast (get up early to avoid disappointment if you want to try everything!) but dinner menu looked fantastic.
Great location. 5 mins walk to night market and therefore close to all sites. Also close to supermarket which is handy for stocking up on drinks and snacks.
Would thoroughly recommend.
True, rooms aren't huge, not much space if you want to unpack and we did need to walk around bags but that really didn't bother us!
You feel like you're staying in a heritage spot (main building is original, accommodation is pretty new but full of character and restored to unesco standards) so won't be disappointed.
And, again, we couldn't have asked for more helpful staff which made the stay very relaxing and enabled us to get the most from our short stay.
Thank you Henri and team!More
