“another wat”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Very overrated. We have seen lots of temples in Taipei that are a lot better, and we are still going to Angor Wat, so were a little under-awed.

We only spent 4 days in Luang Prabang and we could have double our time there. Make sure to visit this Wat.

“It is a Good Visit”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

If you are in Luang Prabang and you want to check the Buddhist temples in town, this one is a good stop. It is centered located, very traditional and quite big.

“Soothing prayers and breathtaking decorations”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

We had the chance to pass by this Buddhist Temple during the late afternoon prayer. What a soothing experience to listen to the monks praying, and the periodic sound of the Buddhist instruments.
Situated just about 200m northeast of the Royal Palace in a quiet neighbourhood, this temple was built by the end of the 19th century, and restored recently with the help from UNESCO and New Zealand. One of its buildings houses a school where monks learn how to preserve and maintain the temples around the city, including sculpture, painting and moulding.
The main temple, the “sim”, has not only a beautiful architecture, but also breathtaking decorations. Indeed a photograph’s dream.

“Beautiful buildings... not to be missed”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

This buildings have exquisite carvings and also beautifully painted. The glass mosaic tiles glisten in the sun.
There is also a "peep show". We won't say more and just join the queue.
