“Something different.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

Having travelled Asia for 6 months now, as you can imagine Im pretty bored of temples, caves and waterfalls etc any general sightseeing.

However, Wat Xieng Thong is definitely something different :) Its really beautiful, glamorous amazing and I spent a long while in there admiring the architecture and all of the patterns.

Lovely temple, definitely worth a visit. My favourite by far and Luang Prabang is so beautiful.

Seen a good few now, it is okay, not worth looking for, if you stumble across it and want to pay in then fine but don't make a special effort

“One of the nicer Temples”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

I've been in Southeast Asia for a few months, so I've been to many Wats so far. This one is one of the nicer ones I've been to!

We were fortunate enough to arrive when there was not many people there, and a tour guide was giving a tour to a lady and her son. He was incredibly helpful with regards to the area, the temple, and life in Luang Prabang. I just happened to get to eavesdrop as he chatter with the lady inside the main temple.

Well worth the admission offering.

“Beautiful Wat with remarkable Lao style architecture”

The Wat is composed by a main temple or Both, and several mini shrines, and a ancient building to put the ceremonial boats. Very nice viez on the river Mekong. Unfortunately no guide.
