“Historic and Memorable”

A must visit to include in the tour. One of the best Museum in
Laos and South East Asia. It tells lot about the history of the
kingdom of Laos.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

As an interesting experience to see how the royal family lived when they were in power. You get to see a mix of ceremonial rooms and also the family's private quarters. Good to have a guide walking with you explaining the history and characters involved.

“Insight into royal living”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Expected a traditional museum but was pleasantly suprised as the building was set out as if the royal family were still living in it. A series of lovely rooms, entertaining, living, sleeping and lots of memorabilia including lots of gifts from other nations over time.

“Better than expected inside”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

This is not so much a museum as a collection of Lao Royal family memorabilia.
A fascinating view of how the Royal Family were in fact a mix of Western and Asian cultures, some of the artifacts are quite stunning.
For many the monarchy is still revered even the PDR of Laos still maintains the heritage buildings and street names of the former Royal family.
Lots of interesting items to see, take your time, you can only photograph the outside.
Also visit the temple containg the Pha Bang buddha after which Luang Prabang was named
Well worth a visit and cool inside on a hot day

“Interesting memorabilia”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

A well laid out museum that would be able to follow without a guide. Try to get there early as you will then get some excellent photographs.
