Most enjoyed the installation of the "Floating Buddha" photographic exhibition, by Hans Georg Berger. Also the lavish decoration of the Wat Ho Pha Bang. Be aware of the required dress code.

This palace is hardly a palace but more a large villa built by the French to "contain" the royal family. The last royal family was taken from here to caves in the North where they passed away due to lack of food and medical treatment. Some of the exhibits are interesting as is the simplicity of the rooms in which the king and queen slept and lived. No luxurious apartments here.

We enjoyed the walk about of the Wat and the Royal Palace Museum. The Floating Buddha photography exhibit is also very interesting. The Wat is fairly modern and quite lovely. There is also a a dance theater on the grounds which provides evening entertainment of traditional dance. We did not attend that program.

Or they will lend you a shawl.
Leave all your belongings in a locked safe.......and no photos!

The condition of the buildings and grounds will not entice you to want to hang around.
It seems the entry fees are not enough to maintain anything here.

Such a shame as there are some really nice artifacts and gifts from many countries but poorly displayed.
The old cars appear to have been dumped in the garage with no real explanation.

Worth 1 1/2 hrs ...............only if you have it to spare.

You are not allowed to bring in your bag pack, camera and etc except your body when you enter this museum. However, it is understandable after you saw the antique, gift, drawings and collections that keep in this place. So beautiful, refinement and well maintained. This museum is highly recommended!
