“Surprisingly basic”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

It's worth a visit to get an idea of what conditions the royalty lived in and the cars they drove. What will surprise you is, they were not that opulent.

“Not a lot to see”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We spent an hour wandering round, the main exhibit is history of the royal family. This was mildly interesting. The car exhibit was just a couple of old cars in a garage and the floating Buddha photo exhibit was closed. Didn't feel it was worth the 30,000k each. (My husband enjoyed reading about the cars)

“Over priced with no real information”
Reviewed September 22, 2013 via mobile

We paid 30,000 each! To walk around a so called museum which infact was just personal artifacts from royal family members. There was no information describing any history or use or the exhibits. The car exhibition part was a garage with a couple of bently continentals and a falling apart citreon. The floating buddha exhibition wasnt even open. We felt uninformed and cheated upon leaving. I would advise skipping this.

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

The former royal palace is a nice little museum that provides a picture of Laos and its royal family during the early- to middle-20th century. Well worth an hour or two, but be warned -- the staff starts turning off lights and fans 10-15 minutes before the noon and afternoon closing times.
