Villa Santi Hotel
Ranked #28 of 68 Hotels in Luang Prabang

Villa Santi was the perfect hotel for our five nights in Luang Prabang this month. My friend and I checked in late, but with ease, greeted with cool juice and many smiles in reception. Our room was in the second building, at the bottom of the stairs, but it wasn't loud as we'd feared based on other reviews. Though there wasn't much of a view, the room was clean and very spacious. Lots of room for luggage was provided. The AC was powerful enough to deal with the oppressive July heat. My only complaint was that the showerhead was mounted rather low, but it was removable so you could lift it higher to wash hair more easily.

The pool near the lobby was a refreshing stop after walking around in the sun. It was small but served its purpose. Breakfast was amazing- the buffet was huge, a mix of eastern and western staples. We went both early and late and there was always enough food. Sitting on the balcony watching the street come to life was my favorite part of every day. We could even see the monks' early morning procession from the balcony in an unobtrusive way.

I strongly recommend this hotel. It's location, staff, and amenities make it a perfect choice when staying in Luang Prabang.

Upon arriving at Villa Santi, we were most impressed with the staff, cleanliness and shear hospitality of the hotel. Although we assumed that Villa Santi had the pool that the sister hotel has, we had no problem taking the shuttle there the day following our arrival. The rooms were very clean and welcoming, and the the staff was always more than willing to assist in any way possible. They booked us a waterfall and cave tour as well as flights elsewhere in Laos. Now that we have travelled, we wish that we would have stayed here and not traveled to Vientienne. Great location, great staff and atmosphere.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in March 2014.
Here's a list of what we liked:
1) Location is excellent. You're on the main road within easy walking distance of the busy part of the town but far enough away to feel relaxed.
2) Swimming pool. It's a small plunge pool and we didn't use it a lot but every day was 95 degrees Fahrenheit and it sure felt good when needed. I love the elephant head that flows water into the pool.
3) Included breakfast buffet. The food is excellent and varied. Having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the street was a wonderful daily experience.
4) Use of the resort location. The hotel provides free transportation to their resort which is in the countryside with a large pool with food and beverage service. We rented a moped and rode out there and it was a fun ride to get to the resort.
5) Staff. They were wonderful and very accommodating.
6) Free airport pickup and drop off

We had met a German gentleman in Vietnam who upon hearing that we were staying here vociferously stated that we had picked the perfect place to stay in Luang Prabang. We found that to be pretty much true.

Room Tip: Our room was around the corner from the main building. We asked about staying in the main building...

As part of our three week tour of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, this hotel and its location was a real highlight. Most of the hotel rooms are in an annex to the main building. Beautiful dark wood everywhere. Breakfast was served on the first floor of the main building. Two of our three days we sat on the verandah for breakfast overlooking the main street. Absolutely idyllic. The hotel is very well located to watch the early morning (5.45am) ritual of the monks receiving alms. Luang Prabang was one of the highlights of our trip and this hotel was very much part of that.

Stayed 3 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Hotel rooms were excellent. Quiet, well appointed and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast on the veranda of the Hotel was fantastic. With a backdrop of a beautiful yellow laburnum tree the atmosphere was perfect.
Hotel's position is perfect for the morning Monk's Alms ritual. Watching 300+ saffron-clad monks collecting gifts of sticky rice, sweets, money etc. from devout residents. Also, well placed for the daily night market.
The hotel also has a sister Spa hotel that we had access to via a regular mini bus. The Spa Hotel had a lovely pool and bar/dining facilities.
An excellent stay and would use again.

This review is for Viila Santi resort rather than the hotel.
The grounds are lovely with a really good pool.
The restaurant/bar service on the whole is very good. Lunch menu is pretty extensive and food good. The breakfast choice is really limited compared with similar places in the Far East.
Our room seemed really cramped, very little space to store clothes, no where to store suitcase. This meant we were forever moving a suitcase out of the way when we moved about the room.
Bar closed rather early, earlier than the 10pm advertised.
Shuttle bus to and from VS hotel in town was a bit random with its timetable.
Overall, enjoyed the stay but could have been much better.

Villa Santi tavern is a delightful four-star possessions situated in the spirit of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO earth inheritance city in Laos. The hotel is a pretty mix of French regal and usual Laotian design. Most guests staying at this hotel seemed to avail the packaged tours to the former palace of Haw Kham, the beautiful riverside monastery of Vat Xieng Toung, or perhaps a daytrip to the Pak Ou cavern and a near Laotian whiskey distillery. My wife had fallen sick with high fever , so we couldn’t plan any daytrips. Nevertheless the hotel compensated for our otherwise boring trip. There are three diversity of accommodation available: Deluxe, for children Suite, and regal group.
