“Good stopover”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

Visiting this place will help earn you brownie points for good deeds. You can purchase books for donation and place them in the book bags. Literacy rate in Laos is low. For 20,000 kip which is about $3.00, you can donate a book. There was a Monk chat ongoing in the room beside it and i was told that one can volunteer to help them practice their english. Just in case you miss it, its in an old colonial building, walk further up from Mount Phousi towards the roundabout.

“Educational and for a good cause”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

Loved coming here and hearing about the book boat that goes to schools along the Mekong. Be sure to chip in for a book or two to go in the book bags on the wall to do your bit.

“Great place to donate your kip at the end of your trip!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

Since you can't convert kip to anything, if you have money left over when you are leaving Laos, this little library has a great project - you can buy books that they then donate to rural village schools. They also have some nice art cards for sale drawn by the students in those villages.

If you visiting Luang Prabang you will most likely visit here. If it is not on your itinerary it should be.

“Pleasant place”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

It is lovely to see the kids reading. Very pleasant. I wish them luck in bringing education to Laos. I would love to know more about their library boat travelling up and down the Mekong. Go visit.
