Great introduction to local weaving techniques and how natural plant-based colors are derived from. Great location along Mekong river. Excellent cafe.

Get along to Ock Pop Tok - fantastic explanations, demonstrations of silk making and weaving. Food and view is tops. I'm a repeat visitor, and always take people here, and learn something new myself each time!

Took a full day of lessons at Ock Pop Tok, 1/2 day dying and 1/2 day weaving. Could not have had a better day. The instructor was knowledgeable (and very funny), the participants interesting (they are interested in textiles, of course they’d be interesting :) and the location straight out of a movie-set. My only regret is that I didn’t have time in my travel schedule to come back for a second day of weaving.

I really like this place because I knew I was getting the real deal from women who crafted these scarves or other items from their villages. And they get to reap the rewards too. Each woman was pictured on the wall with a description of where she lives and what kind of weaving she does. I knew that these items came from Laos....not China! I support this kind of shop.

Reviews like yours remind us of our main mission and core values here at Ock Pop Tok,
which include elevating the profile of Lao textiles and increasing economic opportunities for artisans - especially for our Master Weavers here in Luang Prabang.

A great chance to get up close and observe weavers in action at multiple looms.

They also run weaving classes and dyeing classes as well as tours around the facility.

Luang Prabang is an expensive place to shop for higher end articles and here is no different.

If you lack the confidence or do not have the time to source what you need elsewhere, at least here I believe the quality is above average.

No negotiations required and all items have a price tag.

Low pressure so you can browse without being hassled.

A beautiful garden setting overlooking the river.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review!

All of us here at Ock Pop Tok are glad to hear it!
We take a lot of pride collaborating with communities and local initiatives around Laos, as well as being a source of economic opportunity for these rural villages, especially since it's allowed us to showcase a variety of beautiful products and help people discover Laos through textiles!

We look forward to welcoming you again soon, either at our stores or at our Cafe overlooking the river ;)

Warmly,
Hilary & the Ock Pop Tok team.
