Nice guesthouse. One of the cleanest we stayed in during our trip through south-east asia.
You can find some a bit cheaper, but we decided to stay in this clean and tidy place.
They clean your room every day and we hardly had any insects in the room.

stayed there for a night with my sister and mom. the room was nice and clean, the location is very convenient as it is in the middle of everything (a block away from Khong River and the night market, right across from the national museum and mount Phousi). breakfast was really yummy; ordered rice soup (porridge) with eggs and it came with chilli and lemon. we really liked the chilli and asked if we could buy some but the manager, Mr.Xang, told us that it's homemade and they only make a small portion per day. After a while, he came back and told us that there's some left and said that he would give it to us for free as a gift. we insisted that we would pay but he said that he "doesn't have enough to sell but has enough to give away."
we were expecting a small bag but turned out he gave us like 300g of chilli. after seeing the amount of chilli he gave us we asked him how much it was and he still insisted that it was a gift from the hostel.
they helped us book a tuktuk to the airport and the tuktuk arrived 30 minutes prior to schedule.
very happy with this hostel, would definitely recommend it.

I stayed in this guesthouse during a trip through south east asia with a friend for 4 nights in july 2010. the rooms were absolutely clean and nicely furnished with typical dark wooden furniture. it is located in the center of luang prabang, a few steps away from the night market, shops, an atm and the temples. the tourist information/travel center is just around the corner on the high street, close to a european bakery. the town itself is just amazing, don't miss the kuang si waterfalls and pak ou cave.

Stayed a couple of nights here to look around town. Very conveniently located near the night markets as well as the river, and located opposite the National Museum. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were good amd aircon worked well. Only downside is the terrible breakfast. It costs $5USD but was two fried eggs, a small roll, a stick of butter, a coffee and that's it. Eat elsewhere.
But for $25 a night in a town where it can get very expensive, I would certainly stay there again for the location at least.

We stayed for 1 night at Phousi guest house, it's located near the Mekong, and very close to the night marktet, temples and so on.

Staff was friendly and helpfull, the room was very nice and clean, breakfast was good.

The building itself was very beautiful with stairs and floors of wood, would definitly stay again.

There are three hotels / Guesthouses in Luand Prabang by that name. One is a fancy hotel and two by the river. I stayed at the one close to the river and night market. A really nice guesthouse.
If you take a tuk tuk ask for Fong Yan, the nicest man ever.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room.

We decided to just walk and find a guesthouse near the night market area. The Phousi had three staff spruiking in the street and we asked if they had a room for three , just a big bed and a small bed would be fine. The chief spruiker who seemed to be the desk maanger assured us that was what he had and then we asked to see a room that he showed us had a big bed and room for a small one.. just. It was clean and had the usual wet bathroom where the shower water seems to be aimed at the toilet etc and the flat screen tv and fridge made it a cut above the cheaper units and the price for three made their price ok. My son who was going to sleep on the third bed wanted to sleep and they said they would bring the third bed, we reminded them in and hour and then in another hour. I went to the markets and had dinner and remineded them again. They carried a mattress down and a few hours later I found my son asleep on a bare mattress .. I went and asked for linen as well and at about 11.30 three staff brought linen. They seem to have a busy restaurant whis distracted them from hotel service. Our feeling was that as soon as they got our money that was the end of service. It was polite but after the fifth sorry it just runs a bit thin. I feel this is a reasonable establishment wiht slightly better appointment than the average guesthouse room but we moved out the next day and found better reception else where for less. The beds were hard as a rock which is usual for SE asia it seems. Breakfast included is the usual bread roll.

Room Tip: consider sleeping somewhere else
