“Be prepared for something unusual”
Reviewed May 17, 2012

Ok this is how it goes at 11.30 there are no more places open in Luang Prabang that serve drinks so this bowling place outside of town is the only choice if you want to continue your night out. When you walk in is apparent that almost everybody inside is drunk, bright lights and loud music the bowling is ok its a bit of a bizarro world loads of drunk foreigners some locals its fun a bit weird but ok for a night out. You don´t need bowling shoes we use flip flops.

“Poor for the idea”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

It's the only night place in the area as the curfew forbids drinking (and being out in general) after 11.30. So some smart guy opened a bowling place just outside the town. I expected it to be a little more pricy but more organized as one can make a fortune running such a place properly. In fact it's just a bowling place (but here you can forget the rules of the game, in other places you pay fines for stepping across the lane line, here you just go all the way to the pins if you please). Just grab the shoes if you want or play bare footed... You pay for a game per persone (20.000 Kip) not for hours. Nothing special about the place.

“The only late night/early morning drinking venue in Luang Prabang”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

LOGISTICS
Due to a strict curfew drinking imposed by the government, Luang Prabangs few drinking venues close at around 11.30pm. From this point you have to travel to one of two locations found outside of the town; Dao Fah (the local club) or the Luang Prabang bowling alley. Most Tuk-Tuk advertise this on the side of their carts and they tend to crowd around the base of Mount Phu Si at around midnight. You shouldn't have a hard time finding one. For memory we paid 10,000 kip to get there and 10,000 kip (each as there were 4 of us) to get home. It's too hard to find on your own way here (in my opinion)

REVIEW
This place is fantastic. Myself and the partner came here around 11.30pm on a Sunday. Around this time around half the lanes were full. By the time we left at 1.30am all of the lanes were full and people were waiting for lanes to bowl. I would estimate there were around 50 people inside (on a sunday). It is 20,000 kip each for a game. The bar serves beer lao and also some small snacks (noodles, etc). A lot of drinking goes on here although people do get into the bowling also. It's pretty fun and I would recommend it to others, both because of it's enjoyment and also how bizarre it is. I believe it closes at 2am, although I am not sure.
