Phone Praseuth Guesthouse

Firstly this was a great guest house with the owner very nice and kind.
Your not in the old town which on reflection we do do next time.
Unfortunately the Bamboo bridge was washed away whilst we were there meaning that we had to cycle around to the bridge - the Guesthouse provided free bikes.
Had the bridge been available then it was a very short walk to the old town

The monks walk past the front gate each morning. There are two little shops with all your needs across the road and 6 doors down.

The no1 cafe - Pizza is just around the corner.
Again great place - just depends on how close to the old town you want to be. But great value!!

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is in a quiet area over the river from the main town but there is a bamboo bridge just metres away that takes you right into the centre of Luang Prabang. Good breakfast, en-suites and comfortable clean beds. It was a perfect stay and the owner picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. Perfect!

Stayed here recently for a couple of nights and we were really happy with our stay.

The room was really clean and comfortable and the boys on the desk were helpful. The breakfast was your standard SE Asia and fine. You're not in the old town, but are really close to the bamboo bridge that gets you across (costs 5000 for a day pass, free after 6pm). The bar (I can't remember the name) you walk past before going down the stairs to the bridge is well worth a
visit. The owner gave us a lift to the airport on our way out which was nice too.

Would happily recommend this guesthouse

We were only staying for three nights but stayed for five! After staying at a few different places a month into our three month adventure we still talk about phone praseuth. The staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help or give advice. We skipped breakfast one morning because we having stomach issues and the owner checked in with us later in the day to see why. After telling him he said he would make a special soup for us the next morning. The next morning we had the soup and it was very good. He even asked if we were feeling better.
The guesthouse is just across the bamboo bridge and only is a few minute walk to get to. It is a bit steep going down and after you cross there are stairs to go up. Bring a flashlight if you are going back at night or you can take a tuk tuk for few dollars.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are truly memorable.
One more thing.... We decided to lighten our backpacks and left some clothes piled on the garbage. After taking the free shuttle to the airport we were waiting for our flight and saw a guard walking around with a bag asking people if this was there name written on a piece of paper. It turned out they sent our clothes to us at the airport thinking we forgot them! Very nice of them! It's a great place to stay and you should book now!

Just across the bamboo bridge means that you are only a 5 minute walk to the historic centre without being in the middle of the tourist zone, which I liked. As a solo traveller, I really loved the design of the GH, which has several open communal areas where guests eat breakfast, can read, or visit. This made it so easy to meet other guests, swap tips and ideas, and go on to do sight-seeing and tours together. And I can not possibly say enough about the staff and owner, who were amazing. Highly recommend you stay here!

If you want to see the real Luang Prabang and meet a lovely family and their staff you should stay at Phone Praseuth Guesthouse. I wanted a quiet, warm and welcoming place in one of the busiest tourist destinations of Laos - and that was exactly what I got. The service is excellent and the guesthouse is beautiful. The neighbourhood is authentic and relaxing and the center of this historical city is just a short walk or bike ride away (bikes are available at the guesthouse). I was so lucky that I met several other guests here that I spent some lovely time with around the guesthouse - the people working here also joined us and shared some interesting stories about the country and the Lao culture. When I come back to Luang Prabang I will stay here again.

Our family (two adults and four children) stayed in this very nice guest house for 8 nights in December 2013. The rooms are very clean. The staff is very attentive. We met other travellers. The location is great, just a short walk across a bamboo bridge in order to get to the centre. Whenever we needed help with transportation, this was provided for by the guest house. Bicycles are provided for free.
