Owner description: La Pistoche Swimming Pools and Bars is the only private and public swimming pools in Luang Prabang. It is a complex of 4 swimming pools, 2 small one with water toys for kids and 2 bigger one for everybody. The 2 bigger swimming pools have 2 bars, one jaccuzzi and a small slide. If you are looking for a refreshing break from the heat, after sightseeing or an exhausting bicycle tour, jump into our pools and enjoy delicious cocktails. Away from the tourist traffic, you can find us nestled within a typical Lao Neighborhood in Ban Phong Pheng Village. We offer Happy Hours on Cocktails from noon to 7 pm. It cost 30,000 kips per persons (adults and kids) for entrance fee and you have to leave a deposit of 50,000 kips that will be refunded to you if you dont drink or eat anything, or will be substracted from your bill. Please be aware that in hot season, we do have a lots of locals, specially on Saturday and Sunday. Which means a lots of kids! We love the fact that foreigners and locals laotians can mix together. However, if you are looking for a very quiet place, we don t suggest our place. In hot season, there are some hotels that let visitors go. Also, be aware that week ends are very very busy. We suggest that you come early, we open at 10 am, if you wish to have some quiet time. Just a small note, we also have a lot of backpackers, some families have made some complains about this. Up to now, the backpackers that comes to the pool have been very kids friendly. My 7 years old daughter always end up making new friends that throw her up in the air. We also have a lots of Lao families. We do have free wi-fi, but we are not an internet cafe, so it is possible that our internet doesn t work... We priorize people having fun together and chatting together, than playing with their internet!!! Hope you enjoy!

Went there for a chill out day and were practically the first people there. Great idea yo escape the heat. But I wouldn't say it was a place for families and kids, when we were there most people were chilling out reading their books .. Yet they had their music blasting out. We were next to the speaker which was a pain, but everyone's chilling why not turn it down? Pool is a good size, net in one of the pools. Easy to find, we worked from our hostel and had no probs, plenty of tuk tuks parked outside.

Quite amazing pool set in the middle of nowhere! They play top 40 music, have lots of tables and chairs, swim up bar and a volleyball net. We went here twice and really enjoyed our days here. Great way to chill for the afternoon. Expect to pay 40,000 kip for "2 for 1" cocktails between 12-5 or 15,000 kip for Beer Lao. Admission is 20,000 kip plus a 50,000 deposit that they return to you minus your food tab.

We spent two weeks in Luang Prabang last February and were very happy to find out about this place. When the heat got to us and we needed a break, this was a great spot. Very relaxing indeed! Took a tuktuk from town - sorry don't remember the cost, but it wasn't very far. Would surely visit again if we ever get the chance to go back.

Visited the pool 6th August, our last day in LP. What a great little set up this place is. Only 20,000 to get (plus50k deposit) and very cheap drinks prices. Very quiet from 12-2 and then from 2-5 very busy with locals, backpackers and families. It caters for all with a big and small swimming pool where you can throw around a volleyball with locals. Only small downside was that the larger pool looked like it could do with a bit of a clean but apart from that definitely worth a visit if you're feeling in need of a refreshing dip and relaxed day beside a pool.

We spent a few hours at La Pistoche on our last day and we were pretty happy that we did. At only 20,000kip per person, it's pretty good value (be prepared to leave at 50,000kip deposit per person in addition to the entry fee - refundable on departure).

The facilities are pretty basic but the pool (2 pools, both open) was refreshing & clean. We also scored some sun lounges under an umbrella too!!

There is a swim up bar and drinks are quite reasonably priced. Didn't eat there but they seemed to have an ok menu.

We caught a tuk tuk there from our hotel which cost 30,000kip each way (driver waited for us to swim & then took us back). I don't think it's walkable from the centre of town however there are signs if you want to ride.
