“An evening you won't forget”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

What a special spot! A quiet and beautiful setting away from the crowds along the Mekong River with bright hanging lanterns across the street, set the mood for our 1st night. The staff, quality of food, good wine and excellent service was great. We liked it so much we went back 3 times. Be sure to meet Von, the sous chef, who creates high quality and beautiful dishes and comes out to greet you and see how you liked it. Great lady who's lived in Tennessee and has quite the charming personality! We'll be back next year for sure. A must while in Luang Prabang.

“A MUST in Luang Prabang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2012

We had the best evening and meal in Luang Prabang - it's a must - every dish that came out of the kitchen was exquisite, delicate, exciting and perfectly balanced, the service was attentive and discreet, the ambiance is sublime with the large frangipani tree blooming, trees peppered with paper lanterns overlooking the Mekong River, the chef came out to check on her creations - absolute top notch!

“Quiet, Romantic Jewel on the Mekong in Luang Prabang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2012

Discovered on a recent trip to Luang Prabang this first class riverside restaurant is hidden at the quiet, less traveled end of the Mekong at the Xiengthong Palace Hotel, far from the crowds. For a romantic, or just a quiet meal, either European or local Lao cuisine, this is the restaurant of choice with outside or indoor seating. A good selection of international wines to accompany the meal adds to the culinary experience. What makes the meal special is the gracious and friendly staff led by the competent Food and Beverage Manager. The quality of the food is under the talent of chef Vong who is most happy to come out and say hi to her guests. Vong, a long time resident of Nashville, Tennessee, loves to come out and share her secrets in preparing her native Lao cuisine. I guess all of above is why we visited this restaurant 4 times during our visit, even though we were not staying at the Xiengthong Palace Hotel.
