Lush and luxurious setting alongside the Mekong and right next door to the premier Wat, the hotel has beautiful, immaculately maintained grounds. Rooms were spacious and well designed, with some nice touches; we especially liked the little gifts that came with the turn-down service. The beds and bedding were top quality and super comfortable.
Guillermo was charming, and his staff, despite some having limited English, were very courteous and helpful at all times.
Breakfast in The Kitchen by the Mekong offered fresh fruit, salad and local specialities such as coconut cakes, River-weed and Luang Prabang sausage as well as all the usual Western fare. The scrambled eggs were the best we have had in a month of travel. Service was excellent and staff (especially Von) made an effort to chat and be helpful.
I wish we had been able to stay longer to eat there in the evening too.
