“Great Indian Food, Beautiful City, Friendly People”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

We have eaten Indian food in many cities throughout SE Asia and this is the best of any of them. The Korma is sweet and vindaloo spicy, ingredients are fresh and they offer some of our favorite South Indian food including the best Masala Dosas we have ever eaten. The young woman and her husband who assist other family members are fluent in English, immensely helpful and very warm and friendly. The restaurant is located in the heart of Luang Prabang, one of the most beautiful cities in SE Asia, if not the world.

“Don't bother”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

Couldn't find Nisha's as all the maps were inaccurate, so we thought we'd try the next Indian restaurant on TA's list. Cold atmosphere made colder by the blaring television in the back blasting out Bollywood movies so loudly that my wife and I had great difficulty talking (and w're not that uptight about such things within reason). The service was attentive until the moment we took our seats. The food was very mediocre. I really would not recommend it. If you can find it, perhaps Nisha's is the place to go. We couldn't though, so next time in LP we'll simply skip Indian altogether and stick to Lao food. This wasn't worth it!

“Marvelous masala dosai, best outside India”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

It is difficult to find masala dosai even in London or Paris : In this restaurant I had the best masala dosai ever , outside India. A young man prepared it fresh almost under our eyes and it was delicious. 3€. With a beer and a lassi to finish with. Superb ! They are from Pondicherry in Southern India.

“Good Indian Food Prepared from Scratch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Maxim Restaurant is a basic Indian Restaurant, nothing fancy but good home cooked Indian food. They specialize in Halal dishes. It is located on the Main Street and very convenient to shopping, Night Bazaar and Wats. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The papadams and roti are delicious. The food is very good, not excellent.
