We love everything about this hotel: not right in the center but not too far - 5 minutes biking and the hotel has a lot of bikes for guests; beautiful wooden houses with very nice rooms; huge gardens with long chairs to lay down reading; a refreshing pool.

Highly recommended, will definitely come back.

My wife and I stayed in May 2013 for 4 nights and had a great time. The hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating.Couple of small issues which were quickly attended to. We had one of the rooms above the reception/restaurant which was great, initially thought there may be a problem with noise but no noise came up. It was very relaxing out on the balcony of the room with the view out and over the pool and beyond.
The hotel did not seem crowded although was in the low season. When we booked through our travel agency they said there was only one Delux room available for our booking so we went for the upgrade. Not sure whether it was the agency or the hotel having a go but it was fine anyway.
Not a luxury place to stay but fits in with the pace of the town.
Recommend the restaurant down near the bamboo bridge. Good other restaurants in town

Although not in the middle of Luang Prabang, the My Dream Boutique Hotel is a good starting point for your excursions. The hotel offers three shuttle services to town and free airport shuttles aswell. The My Dream is an Oasis - beautiful trees, a nice pool, very good food and great rooms with superb views. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful - we really felt at home here and we were sad to leave!

Such a romantic city and such a romantic hotel. Located close to the airport, the hotel offers complimentary transfers as long as you tell them in advance of your travel details.

Our room was great, the bathroom is clean and we never wanted for anything. The shower is great, our fridge was regularly re-filled with bottled water and the mosquito nets over the bed were perfect for keeping us bite-free. We had a villa that looked right onto the garden which leads down to the banks of the river Nam khan where the hotel provide 2 sun lounger huts along with various reading material.

The staff are great - there's a young American man who knows the area well and is keen to give advice on day trips etc. The other local staff are also keen to do all they can although sometimes it can take all your creative body language skills to understand one another. It all added to the quaintness of the hotel though. The food is also outstanding - the breakfast which is included in the room rate offers fresh omelettes as well as delicious pastries, The croissants and muffins really don't fall short of international standards. The options for dinner/lunch if you are felling lazy are also great - good, well cooked local fare.

The only downside is that this side of the river is slightly less touristy and the neighbours had nightly parties which were pretty loud and went on quite late. There's not much you can do about this except join them... Otherwise, the location means you have to cross the river to get into town and this is either done via a rickety bamboo bridge during the dry season or a circuitous route by tuk tuk during wet season. The bamboo bridge, whilst fun at first, was a bit scary at night when sometimes the lights are not working and the pathway can be slippery.

I stayed at My Dream with my father for three nights in early May, and it was an amazing experience.
The rooms were nice and large, with mosquito netting around the beds if you needed it, they had nice balconies and bathrooms and overall were quite good.
The grounds were beautiful - you could walk down by the river and sit on a daybed and read, or swim in the pool, or have a drink or meal at the restaurant.
The staff was excellent - nothing was ever an issue to help you with. The manager ordered scooters for us to use one day, and we didn't have to provide our passports for collateral, the hotel took care of it for us. They arranged them to be delivered, and we left them with the hotel when we were done and on a tour, and they had them picked back up. It was great.
The breakfast is great; for the first few days, they had drip coffee but then moved to a Gaggia system - I'm partial to drip coffee and it was rare to find good drip coffee in SE Asia, so I was sad to see the Gaggia come and the brewed coffee go. But the food selection was delicious and fresh every day.
All in all this is a great choice for Luang Prabang. While the 10 minute ride into town may be a slight inconvenience for some (not for us at all), I think if you'd like a nice quiet peaceful retreat-style hotel, My Dream is the place to stay in LP.

Beautiful property on the other side of the Nam Khan River! Our room was spacious with a nice balcony facing the garden and river. Staff were nice and helpful, breakfast was decent, and they had complimentary bicycles for you to use. Only downside was the distance of the hotel from the centre of LP. Although if you want some peace and quiet, and don't mind walking a bit more, you should definitely stay here! Also, there is a walking bridge not too far away, easy to walk across to where the restaurants are. And try the restaurant beside the walking bridge called Dien Sabai for a Lao style BBQ!
