“Unique sauna experience”

Lao Red Cross Sauna and Massage
Attraction details
Reviewed July 1, 2012

This sauna means experiencing a unique evening. Once you entered, you think "is this really rated so well in tripadvisor?". Don't be misled by the basic interior. Sauna and thea are really great, being surrounded by nice Lao people as well and the massage is of high quality and great value for money.

Great massage that's for a good cause. Just walk in put your name down on the board for when you want a massage. Easy.

Old style, colonial feel, hardly any tourist, very cheap, massage 4 Euro per hour, sauna 1 Euro as long as you want. Sauna is small, divided per sex, and comes with free herbal hot tea to drink, there are lockers and changing rooms availale and there is a small shower room. Very relaxing, not very clean but who cares ? Sauna was very hot but very good and only local people, massage was alos very good and has no happy endings like Thailand which I think is very good. They really love it when you come by and support them and don't ask for any more money at all. They just say thanks very much for your support in a very genuine way when you leave the place and gaving given 1 Euro for the sauna... wonderful place !

Mattresses were dirty, staff were uninterested, and we all felt very uncomfortable during the massages. I would suggest going to the temple across the road and sitting quietly in there for a half hour and you will be much more refreshed.
