“Spoilt by Tourists”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

The ceremony itself is an important part of the culture and faith of this community but is spoilt by tourists without sufficient respect to keep their distance and show more respect.

“Respect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

Too many visitors have not read the visitors guide. Lack of respect for the religion and culture is obvious.

“Set your alarm if you want to see this!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

Unless you come from a Western country, you'd find it all too common. Plus you have to wake up at 530am to observe the session. Best place to observe is the main street in LP or the streets near the main temples in LP. The session will take around 15mins to complete as the monks will make 1 round to collect alms from devotees.

PS: pls do not shove ur camera into the monks' face when taking pics. They are not doing it for tourism but as a sign of their belief and faith.

“Interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Got up early 515 am and lined the streets with other travellers and locals to give food to the local monks who parade along the road with their bowls. Very interesting.
