We could have stayed at the many colonial-style hotels in town but this place appealed more due to the true riverfront location outside of the busier area. The room was adequate and spacious, maybe not luxurious but that was not really our expectation.
Our server at breakfast was a wonderful lady and so genuinely amiable that she made up for the food being less than memorable.
Although the place is buzzy during the day with weaving classes, it was wonderfully peaceful in the mornings and evenings. I was able to spend some relaxing time on the "communal" back porch overlooking the river while my wife took a weaving class that she really enjoyed.

house is beautiful
products are very attractive
but pity that prices are so unaffordable
i managed to buy only a cotton scarf; i'm not the only one thinking this as most tourists visiting the place on the same time were thinking the same
Most people would see and watch but 1 among 10 wiuld buy something i guess
I'm afraid it is becoming very touristic and prices more american than asian or lao

With in 10 minutes of arriving, my friend and I extended our stay another day. This hotel felt nothing less than magical! The decor is super crafty and trendy with a cozy at-home feeling. We didn't have a chance to take one of the courses in weaving/dyeing, but will definitely return and do so next time. Rooms are adorable and staff could not be nicer! Food was awesome too! Some said it was far from the main area, but we loved the location and made use of the free bikes they have for their guests. 10-15 bike ride and 5 min tuk-tuk ride to street markets/temples/restaurants. On site driver took us to waterfalls and airport. Everything felt incredibly organized and easy to navigate.

This traditional Lao textile workshop is located a little outside of the center of Luang Prabang and offers four rooms for accommodation. Don't expect Ock pop tock to be a hotel resort. The small workshops are enbedded in the middle of a wonderful natural garden with an amazing view over the Mekong river, ideal to enjoy the sunset.
The rooms are in style of different Lao tribes and are furnished with a lot of artwork that is handmade in their workshop. You get a delicious breakfast and can eat in the restaurant during daytime.
However the restaurant and every other service closes at 6 pm straight, which made it a little hard to get dinner or drinks in the evening. -But as mentioned, they don't claim to be a hotel so one can arrange and it was fine.

Set just outside Luang Prabang, along the Mekong, Ock Pop Tok's villas carry a quiet charm accentuated by the hospitable staff that went out of their way to connect with me. Each room is uniquely appointed. The inclusive breakfast is lush and healthy. The staff was always available to help suggest ideas for my day. The weaving courses are top. I stayed in the Hmong room - it had exquisite textiles and an extremely comfortable bed. The boutique feel is completely balanced with the Laos charm and natural beauty along the Mekong.
