Description: Cafe Toui serves magically simple Lao food, prepared to order by Chef Toui. Because of the super abundance of vegetables from surrounding farms and in our local markets, we can offer many interesting vegetarian choices as well as traditional dishes with fish, pork and duck, etc. All with Toui's amazing flavors. We bend a bit from Lao tradition for special desserts. We serve cocktails, beers and some wine.

“Real flavours of Laos”
Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

I ate at Cafe Toui almost every day that I stayed in LP (around 5 times). The food is so delicious and flavoursome. I became addicted to the laap salads, both fish and tofu. His cafe inspired me to take a cooking class in LP so I could learn to cook with ginger, lemongrass, chili etc. All of which exploded in his dishes. So well priced too. Laap was around 35,000kip ($5au roughly). There were some restaurants on the main street that charged similar price or more than Cafe Toui however appeared inauthentic. The menu also has a range of western dishes but if you could get those at home, it's hard to bypass the Laotian dishes here. Quiet restaurant just off the main strip. Friendly staff and good wifi. Will come again.

Walked in by chance but were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food brought out with a smile by the chef himself. Had the beef and the mok mak kua. Recommend!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed January 31, 2014 via mobile

Really enjoyed this place! It was small and quiet and there is one main chef who also brings the food out. He seemed really nice and his kids were hanging around for a while too which was cute.
I had the tofu laap and my friend and I shared the salad with goats cheese and the panacotta.
All of it was delicious and tasted healthy and nourishing. The prices were pretty cheap for how full we were by the end. We're going back for sure on our last night here! Definitely recommend!

“Lovely”

We loved our meal here! The red curry and the coconut panacotta with mango and orange were delicious. Really nice place and happy to support a local chef.

“Small but inviting”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

This restaurant has a very narrow front and is difficult to find. Our touktouk driver was also confused as to where it was.
The outlook is lovely overlooking the Mekong River.
The menu is reasonably extensive with both vegetarian and meat dishes. The main meats offered were buffalo and deer. I had deer and really could haved been eating any Lao meat. Disappointing! One of my friends had buffalo...rather tough, the other friend had a vegetarian dish and loved it. My thoughts.....go vegetarian!
