“Excellent coffee, pasteries and bread !”
Reviewed June 12, 2011

This is a very good French café located near many of the main wats. The atmosphere of the café is very French and this is excellent. There are tables outside and inside with a fan.

Apart from excellent bread and croissants the restaurant sells good ice-cream and is a great place to sit and soak up the atmosphere of Luang Prabang.

The breads and croissants were so good we did not eat our hotel breakfast but came here instead. The staff are attentive and friendly and speak good English. This place has the best bread in Luang Prabang. Well done !!

I recommend strongly that you go and have an early morning breakfast and savour the great atmosphere.

“Yummy”
Reviewed April 26, 2011

The butter croissants and danishes at this place are great, exactly the way they should be. Far superior in quality to the majority of bakeries in the main street of Luang Prabang. Espresso was good too.

“The Best Of France Within the Nicest Part Of Lao”
Reviewed March 4, 2011

Croissants, chocolate croissants, traditional French pastry, homemade ice cream, etc. Top notch quality in South East Asia: only approach this quality one would have to go to Bangkok based "Lenôtre" outlets. However it 's not the last quality of Le Banneton to be located in a much nicer environment, just opposite one of Luang Prabang nicest temple.
A professional pastry French chef brings the best of France within one the nicest part of Lao.
Don't miss it... Le Banneton is a dream made true

“An excellent french bakery”
Reviewed March 3, 2011

This café became my favourite for an espresso & croissant while watching the monks collecting alms every morning on the other side of the main street, (Sakkhaline Road). It opens at about 6.30AM and has over 20 different types of pastries on sale together with ice-cream. You can sit inside or outside on the street. It has a sister café in Vientiane.

It is opposite Wot Sop & is in the quieter end of the main street towards the junction of the Mekong & Nam Khan rivers. It is an ideal place to watch the monks go by each morning. (At dawn the other end of the street closer to the night market area is crowded with tourist taking photos of the monks which detracts from the whole basis of the alms collection).

The staff speak English well and service is prompt. A great place for a coffee & pastry early morning or any time during the day. Recommended.
