Yes, Alila Resort is open ! I stayed there from 5-8 October 2010 with a small group of travellers on a gourmet tour of Laos. The welcome and service we received was quite amazing. The resort was up and running and the staff (many locals) were professional and attentive. The rooms are spacious , beautifully appointed and the bedding is VERY luxurious...I had an open-air bathroom, flower on pillow, ginger tea night cap. I enjoyed a massage ...wonderful! A swim (I may have been first guest in the pool : ) ) A fabulous
cooking class with Sebastien and his team! Recipes e-mailed to my home-Yum!
Alila is a 5 * resort with a heart...they truly care about local people and provide excellent training. I think this is what touched me about Laos the most...people are working together to provide opportunities for local people.
