We stayed in a double room at this hostel which was perfectly nice, clean enough, with a hard bed, TV, A/C and two windows on the second floor. The windows and bug shutters didn't close properly however which was a major pain. We did not have any noise issues as we were two floors up but some fellow travellers on the first floor were kept up by people in the 'lobby'.

Overall we found this hostel average value for money, as others have complained on here it would be made so much better if another person were put in charge of the front desk. The attendant we had was very strange and unhelpful, even forgetting to book a trip we had organised and asked her twice if she had arranged it, meaning she had to hastily scramble and organise the trip while we waited for 45 minutes outside. A real let down in service.

Location is fine, with restaurants nearby and a short walk to the night market which was fantastic and definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Get a room on a higher floor to avoid noise issues.

I stayed here in a 3 bed private room at the back by the nicely presented terrace.

On arrival we were happy with the owners welcoming and the room however it quickly went down hill after the well rehearsed welcoming.

Anything we after fell on deaf ears, the main lady was more interested in her computer game that answering customer questions that would actually increase their revenue. Anything we booked I.e. trip to the waterfall or the bus to our next location was responded to with a nod of the head without any official booking form and no names were written down which didn't fill us which confidence or reassurance.

One major issue is if you like to sleep then don't stay here there are constant chainsaw and hammering from the neighbours that start around 7am so not rest for hangover from night in Utopia and the bowling ally (only place stays open past 11.30pm and where everyone ends up)

We had our laundry done here which I wouldn't recommend, they came back as it they hadn't been washed and worst of all 10 items came back completely ruined with blue stains everywhere and in-washed out suds. My pure white bra came back looking like a hippies tye dye kit had exploded all over it. Note to all don't let them do your laundry!

I don't think the drainage is very good either as every night when we got back to our room it was pretty nasty.

Overall not a great stay but ok for 1-2 nights as a stop over.

Stay in double room - its well equipped with working wifi, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and TV. Breakfast is basic but quite enough. Staff is very helpful - especially Thu, hotel keeper, who will take care of you, show everything and help arrange trips and airport ride. Very good atmosphere. Only drawback is a noise of roosters signing early in the morning. Hotel is within walking distance from a main street.

Room Tip: try double room

The place is located slightly out of the centre but not too far away (about a 10 minute walk). The dorm was big and the bed was comfortable; there was a locker provided under the bed (bring your own lock), and breakfast was included (coffee, tea bags, bread and jam). They have tours to the waterfalls, but you can probably get a better price outside if you're good at haggling. The receptionist was patient and great answering the questions I had.

The biggest downside however, were the bathrooms - they were in the basement which meant a lot of walking up and down. The floors were also always wet, and with the no-shoes policy, you never really know what you're stepping on which was not a pleasant feeling.

Worst place I stayed on my SE Asia trip. Had a "deluxe" private. Shower stone cold, towels like sandpaper, no safe, no wifi in room, tv broken and ick decor. Service on desk brusque or absent. Much better places available in beautiful Luang PrAbang for much less. AVOID.
